Sending A Parcel From Uk to New Zealand

Sent a parcel to New Zealand last Monday and the average given time is 5-7 working days.
The parcel hasn't arrived yet and my mate is getting himself in a bit of a pickle.
He is so looking forward to showing off the European Tour T-Shirt (I sent 2)

Have any of our antipodean fans had packages sent over from the UK that took longer than 7 working days ?

Whoever you sent it with would've given you a tracking number.

It's possible that it's stuck in Customs.

Had an order I had to send out to NZ a bit ago - was a few items of clothing.

They said it'd take around a week

It took about 4 weeks to get there.

Don't panic - but if it's there in a fortnight it'll be a good job.

I sent a package last year - was told would take 8-10 days, actually took 3 weeks. Was sent first class recorded too. It'll get there, but who knows when...

Ps, in future don't use Post Office - you can google delivery company comparisons and drop them off at a local shop for a better service for international delivery cheaper.

Cheers anyway

I would give it up to two weeks mate,I ship alot with selling sites to NZ and Australia takes about that but bank holidays we have had may slow things. It could be hard work though because you really must put a customs sticker on your parcel for outside EU did you do this? Also it was worth paying the extra £3 roughly on it to be tracked mate no issues then.If parcel is not tracked and is missing it’s a real ball ache, you may aswell just call it a loss.On saying all this I think it will get there soon just slow I would say.

A female drinking acquaintance who works there did it all for me so I assume so,she's worked there for years.

I work fir Australia Post in the Perth parcel centre every Christmas & we get parcels coming from England going to Austria or parcels from USA going to Uk, so the system doesnt always work.
However biggest issues are poor wrapping & no sender address.
The other issue epecially from UK however is their postage sticker barcode is non trackable.
90% of the worlds parcels barcodes, even China etc are scanable to we can receipt them in.
When you think it was Britain who invented the postage stamp they have fallen way behind now.

Along with keeping them in the club shop bag she put them in a grey parcel bag & put my name & address on.

Thinking about it,the less we use the Post Office more rural outposts will disappear meaning more old dears having to travel miles to use one.

Having your name and address certainly helps in the inbound address is damaged or missing.
Its always better to put the reveivers address on in more than one place also.
Another issue is people dont put the full senders address on, leaving off the street number ir unit number or even the suburb.
We regularly get say River street Perth, rather than River street - suburb - Perth.
There may be 15 River streets across Perth so we have no idea which one its going to, hence ut will get sent back to the original sender.

I think you'll find there is only one Wooten Place in Kaiapoi :D

Btw,I was hoping for more reassurance not more stress ;)

I live in NZ and the post from the UK to here used to be pretty good but it now seems to take an age. I ordered something from overseas recently and could tell from the tracking number that it was stuck at customs for about a week so don't be surprised if yours takes a while. Also don't be surprised if you see a few photos crop up on social media of NZ customs officers wearing a couple Burnley European Tour t-shirts :D

Incidentally it's a public holiday here on Monday so if your parcel hasn't arrived by the weekend, it will be mid-next week at the earliest.

I get Lilywhites / SportsDirect orders delivered to NZ and normally takes 2-3 weeks. Bizarrely, they only add 91p for shipping to NZ, no matter the size of the shipment. Stocked up on end of winter sales!

I just moved to CHCH too Dazzler, so i would say if your mate wanted to catch a beer and watch a game when the new season starts it'd be good to meet a fellow Claret, but the time difference makes it more than a bit tough.

He watches the games at home but I'll certainly mention it to him.
