We’ve all been to many places in our lives, even if we’ve only explored this country. But have you ever experienced such beauty that it completely took your breath away? Have you ever thought “If Heaven is as beautiful as this...”

Oh yes.... Sit on a bench and look at some geese. You've got to be careful where you park your car, because if they see their reflection, they'll attack your hub caps.

This country...
Kynance Cove, on a warm sunny day you can’t beat it - it’s like another country down there.
Abroad...
I have fond memories of the Rhine valley from a school trip - not sure exactly where though

As I teenager, I arrived late at night and set up my tent in the darkness. Waking at first light, l opened the tent to see exactly where I had pitched my tent. The scene was like nothing I had experienced.
I was on the edge of a mist covered lake. Anglers all the way around the pond/lake. The light was magical and only just breaking through the mist. Such beauty!

No question in my mind, ‘Old Quebec City’. Just like someone picked up a European walled city and placed in Quebec. Beautiful place, great food. Old Montreal’s not too shabby either.

Grassington when I was 13 ..."Beautiful" wasnt a word I'd use...but me and a mate cycled from Burnley and on seeing all the pine trees,river,blue skies and everything of nature that word came in to my mind!! It's not my favourite place but it's a beautiful one.

Tarkwa bay, Lagos , Nigeria, 1972ish.Sunrise on a deserted beach. Just me, my brother and my father. The waves lapping on the beach, the beached jellyfish and us three. We saw something that morning, that no longer exists.

I often take photos as the first light appears over our coastline. It means arriving in the dark. Standing in the darkness with only the sound of crashing waves is quite spiritual. And then you see the most precious moments as the light arrives.

Timanfaya national park Lanzarote, been to many places but going through roads in a coach carved into lava fields with sheer drops to the side up to the top of an active volcano although dormant for now was something else.
In the UK the Hole of Horcum North York moors just something special/different about walking around and through it,

Montenegro. Probably the most naturally beautiful country I have ever been to. Architecturally not bad either.
Rome for architecture though. I expected it to be aright. But it was truly unbelievable completely blew my mind. Like a real life theme park.
Montenegro (and Serbia and the rest of the Balkans generally) though I just love for everything. The sheer beauty of the country, the food, the people, the atmosphere, the culture, the patriotism, the price, the way of life etc.
Of all the weird and wonderful places I have been absolutely love Europe. Its all so diverse and all on our doorstep for a £20 Ryanair flight!

Tough question.
Around Derwentwater / Borrowdale valley one of my favourites in the UK.
Outside the UK? Maybe Yosemite, or Victoria Falls, or..... there's many magical places around the world - and many more that I've not been to, yet.

Up the valleys from InterLaken. Grindelwald and Lauterbrunnen.
My favourite walk ever was the funicular, now replaced by cable car, up from Lauterbrunnen. Then a flat walk along to Murren, with the Eiger, Monsch and Jungfrau all across the valley.
At Murren you can take a cablecar up to the James Bond revolving restaurant. Then descend from Murren back to the valley floor and back to the car with the sound of waterfalls and cowbells to accompany you. Bliss.

Went to Vienna when I was 18 and thought it was brilliant, superb nightlife and plenty to see during the day, I was captivated. It was my first trip abroad without the parents so that could've contributed. Not exactly a Club 18-30 experience but it'll do for me.

Sanibel island Florida, lucky to have been going every year for 20 years, the wildlife, fishing & beauty of the place is just fantastic. It’s like being in the 60’s with no chains allowed on the island & characters that live there.

Tokyo makes you marvel at what humans can build when they’re not being dicks to each other.
Closer to home, the scenery on the Woodhead Road on the way home from a match in early Autumn is a treat every time.

Svalbard in the high Arctic circle, before it got too touristy.
Whilst being towed across the valleys by a pack of huskies there's just you and the Arctic silence, only broken by the sound of the dogs and the runners cutting through the snow
The rifle focuses your mind though. Mandatory in case you get jumped by a polar bear!

UK - Isle of Skye, Glencoe, Loch Ness (in fact, pretty much the West of Scotland, amazing);
Interlaken (Switzerland), breath-taking;
Lefka Ori (White mountains, Crete) - just love this area, magical;
Ontario province - huge, stunning place;
closer to home - sat having a pint of Moorhouses at the Pendle Inn, Barley on a Summers evening -, wouldn't swop it for anywhere, just beautiful.

Lots of beautiful places in this country.
I love my little bit of N Derbyshire most of all and, never get bored of it.
Abroad, of all the places I've seen, Norway probably made me go "Wow" the most.

I was amazed with Skye. The east coast overlooking the sound, and the Stoors is breathtaking.
I love the mountains and the Alps take some beating. Lermoos, Garmisch, Salzburg, Berchtesgarden.
As someone else said, the Balkans are completely different but have a beauty and wildness of its own. Montenegro, because until I went to Kotor I'd never ever heard of it.
Most of all home. There's a view coming up past the golf course in Catterick , where you break the brow of the hill, and a panorama of lower Wensleydale and Penn Hill opens up before you. 60 years I've enjoyed it, and I still get a thrill every time I see it.

Tough question, I've had the good fortune to go to a number of places. Can pick many that fit the term 'best' for different reasons...
In the UK, I always love visiting Dartmoor, whatever the weather, so wild and interesting.
For the rest of the world: for nature/wow factor - New Zealand (particularly South Island), but also South West China and Big Island of Hawaii. For adventure - Thailand/Indonesia. For lifestyle - Australia/Singapore. Really miss South Korea too every now and then...
The list could go on, we really live on a beautiful interesting planet!

Canada. In particular the rockies. Spent much time there on exercise with the army. As a young un, all I was interested in for r&r was boozing in Medicine Hat and Calgary. As I got older, I spread my wings a little and explored. Went mountain biking in the rockies. Lake Louise and Banff were amazing. The trails were brilliant. Even sacked the bikes off for a day and went up on horseback.
Even the exercise part was good at times, waking up i the vast expanse that is the BATUS training ground. I swear I’ve never seen the sky as big as it was there.
Rome is something else. Always something to see, and not just the well known stuff, there’s always something else you haven’t noticed round the next corner.
