Hmmm first time I've ever seen a goalkeeper distribute a ball behind him.

This "sweeper keeper" nonsense he's trying g... He's just running around for the sake of it

Not really that’s what Pope has to work at.

PS. Distribution that is.

Rather have a keeper that has the highest percentage of shots saved than the one with the best percentage of accurate goal kicks

It's a nice to have but it seems to become an obsession

It's not an obsession. It's just important for some teams. Guardiola was clear about it and he was right.

An obsession is not being able to stop going on an on and on about the England manager deciding that he thinks Pickford and Butland are better equipped keepers than Pope for his team

Guardiola bought the keeper with the best distribution (Bravo) realised he wasn't that great at stopping shots and had to change him

Take your point about it being more important for some teams than others though

If we start with stones in middle of defence at World Cup, it’ll end in tears.he doesn’t inspire confidence

I think our weakness is definitely in defence. We'll score goals against any team, but we'll make mistakes at the back which could cost us.

3 things I've noted..

1. Trippier is a key figure.

2. Do we not have a left footer for left back? Young cutting back onto his right all the time is a weakness.

3. Kane looks laboured and slow at international level.

What's a bit pathetic is some people disliking Pickford and will want him to do badly in the World Cup just because Pope is in the squad.

Sounds over confident to me...a chance for the others to have a go then warm up Pope.

Yet we had the 2nd worst scoring record of all the European group winners and the best defensive record.

Personally i think we are reasonably well balanced and just lack a real creative centre mid but will prob get beat by Belgium and whoever we play in the quarters if we get there because we just lack the quality throughout the team

Agree with 1 and 2.

Kane looks like Southgate has told him to go easy and not injure himself.

Maybe but if youre playing a Brazil or Germany in the QFs then having a Kevin De Bruyne in the middle of the team can give you that extra spark you'll probably need
