To be fair, coyle could easily be a clubs recruitment consultant. He doesn't do too bad signing wise.

So will I.
1 of my best seasons following Burnley, made my dreams come true in getting us to the premier league, playing a major role in making us far superior than Blackburn, and making sure we will have many a decade laughing at them.

Thanks Owen !

Really?

Rovers were in trouble financially well before Venkys turned up, they just got sold a sinking ship.

Are things so bad on the mighty Rovers boards that you have come on here just so you can share your God given opinion to any virtual humans... think the Rovers police should be asking just who the closet Clarets are on the boards after all.

Not trying to be provocative for the sake of it, but I never really had an issue with coyle, Despite everyone detesting him, I can't understand the severity of the hatred when he just left a football club and went to another one.
You can't seperate his departure from a billion others , players and managers alike.
They all are out for the best they can get. Loyalty does not exist in modern football.
No point saying it was the manner of his leaving either, they ALL have some crappy tale of woe to tell one way or the other.
37000 crammed into wembley in 2009 , his handy work. Just because he left a bit later doesn't ruin that memory, precious little else to celebrate prior to that for a long time as a claret.

If anyone of the following Managers other than Brian Laws had been appointed, few would have batted an eye.

I remember people begging him not to leave at MK Dons and then slagging him when he went.

We had some great times with him but probably it had already run it's course and perhaps the Board had genuinely sussed him out and wouldn't open the wallet

Nothing to make up, the proof is there for everyone to see and we've all seen it these last few years.

Convenient to blame it all on the venkys, but as I remember it the rot began when the Rovers fans started complaining about Sam Allardyce 's negative football.

No, the rot started when Jack died and his family washed their hands of his unsustainable folly.

I can't see our owners allowing the club to build up £100 million of debt and then writing it off.

Plus our season tickets aren't dirt cheap either to entice fans into the ground, or have you forgotten about that one?

You don't appear to be that well clued about what went on at Rovers.

He got greedy. You reap what you sow. He's paid the price. No hard feelings. ( ) He was deluded. Got a bit big for his boots. Would be slightly funny if we got him to do the half time draw  some fans would go into total meltdown just thinking about it. ;)

I am one who was really p:ssed at OC. I thought we had a good chance of surviving that year. I even thought it was our only chance at being in the Prem. Now 8 1/2 years in and my thoughts are diametrically opposite. He has destroyed our rivals. We have a much sounder manager. Thank you OC. If he visits again I will cheer him for setting us in the road we have been on.

Look Raya/ Saxo (whatever you're deciding to call yourself), this has been spelt out to you many times, but still you choose to ignore the blindingly feck-ing obvious truth. Because I understand you're not the sharpest, I'll be polite and try to explain to you again - The Walkers Trust WROTE OFF £100 MILLION POUNDS worth of debt to make the sinking ship appear a bit more stable (no pun intended).

The subsequent £100 million debt the chicken farmers accrued was simply symptomatic of the ridiculous situation they inherited. But you lot down the road, having been cosseted for so many years, simply refuse to accept what everyone else can see.

Yours was bought. Ours is earned. That's the reality, like it or not, we don't really care.

Nope him and Penny were signed before our promotion season so wouldnt have been on much compared to the figures we are dealing with now.

Funny how if you point to any bad signings Dyche made people excuse them saying we need a squad and the overall success he's had overrides a few bad signings (which I agree with). Then however when Coyle makes a couple of bad signings in Penny and Van Der Schaaf which ends up with a promotion season and making the club millions the same reasoning is not afforded him

Typical of the ignorance of this board to only be able to play the man and not the objective facts

You're wrong about VDS. Yes, he was signed the summer before promotion but, we gave him such a fat contract, he was still the highest paid player when we were in the Premier League.

Any proof of this apart from rumours and myths peddled on messageboards by people with agendas? Id be amazed (though would gladly admit im wrong if it the case)if Bikey, Mears & Fletcher were not offered bigger contracts than VDS when they signed after promotion

Speaking of ignorance you clearly don't know that due to a clause in VDS's contract he was our highest paid player during our first ever PL season despite not playing for us.

Again where's your proof of this so called contract clause. Half way through that first Prem season he went out on loan to Bronby. The reality is we probably spent less on VDS than we spent on Ian Moore but lets not let the VDS myth get in the way of facts
