I fear it is one accident away from a disaster which would put football back decades of progress.

First 2 questions seemed to relate to the same thing. Isn't "No standing allowed" and "Strictly forced to sit" the same?
They also seen to have decided that 10% will be the max standing area before they've even had the debate?
In any case I completed the rest of the survey

Completed and would be more than happy to see something done, although I would still prefer to sit.

I guess under the current system there is 'no standing allowed' in theory, but people aren't 'strictly forced to sit' all the time, particularly at away matches.

Done, but why restrict it to up to 10% of the ground capacity?
If a % has to be for visiting fans (I assume it would but my be wrong) then it equates to less than those who currently stand in the CF stand.
10% doesn't seem anywhere near enough to me, especially when the person occupying the spot could sit anyway

You are either just trying to be argumentative or you simply don't understand what the survey is about. That's absolutely clear from this post.

That was a FL survey I think - this is from the shadow sports minister ahead of her meeting this week and the Parliamentary debate. But, for me, they can have as many surveys as they like because they will hopefully and eventually lead to getting some safe standing back in our grounds.

Interersting view. I used to take my kids back in the 70s and 80s right from the age of 5 and it was a lot more dangerous in those days ---and not just in the ground either.
It is a risk you take and I have to admit that there was only one occasion when I really worried about it and that was when a load of Burnley fans chased Wolves fans back down to the railway station after a match at the Turf in the mid 70s and that was very scary.

So don't take your children into a designated safe standing area

The thing is, if there were a designated SAFE standing area there would also be designated seating areas where people would actually be able to sit. That's better and far safer than the situation we have now.

Done......from an old timer who misses standing and cringes when returning home for the occasional game and has to sit. Germany has done this safely for years, why not us?!?!?!?!?

Even if safe standing is allowed it would only be in a small percentage of the ground. You wouldn't be forced to take your kids in there.

Simple because we are a 3rd world country where things like this are concerned.

Agree you would think most grounds now could have a designated stand just for people who wish to stay standing,it is no different to a family area being assigned, and would avoid the constant bobbing up and down as peeps try to follow the action, how this would work for home fans and away fans hasn't been made clear as yet,and the 10% is an arbitrary figure, for t'turf that would equal 2000/2200 fans taking into account segregation.Given the tight time frame i can't see these proposals being workable until the 2019/2020 season anyway.

They can’t even in force safe seating in the away end at Burnley away games let alone anything else.
I.e. people standing up in front of seated fans.

I've filled it in and sent. I have denounced the issue as a political red herring by those that seek to use sport for the wrong reasons.

Are you just trying to get a rise or have you not understood the concept of it being EXACTLY like it is now, but with the added safety feature of a barrier in front of you and behind you?
You do understand it isn’t a return to the terraces of old don’t you? That was a view I often heard 2-3 years ago from people on Tv who hadn’t done their research, but I have heard that for ages.

I’ve filled in in. The 10% seems really low, and I’d have thought clubs would want 25% (well, not the huge clubs), otherwise you’ll still get people standing in seated areas.
Should be 25%. Haven’t a clue why they’d restrict it and clubs will know already how many people stand in their grounds.

Done. Said safe standing helps keep me fit and healthy - and I'm in my 7th decade.
I didn't mind entering my email address.....
But, I've just received an invitation to buy tickets for "Jezfest" at White Hart Lane on 16th June.

Rather missing the point or is he/she doing so deliberately.
He/Shes initial comment was daft enough wasn't it.
Currently a drunken idiot can sit next to you anywhere in the ground.
The survey is about the possibility of 10% of the ground being designated for standing. You and your children can choose to remain in the normal seated area. Of course the drunken idiot might follow you as he may feel his swaying might cause him to fall if his arse is not firmly planted on a seat.

Done. The 10 % is a strange arbitrary figure that will make for some odd ground configurations. Surely one stand would be easier and the club could choose the stand.

I went to see The Specials/The Rolling Stones at the Ricoh Arena, Coventry last night - there were several fights between drunken idiots outside the stadium before the concert had even started! I have seen drunken punch-ups and cat-fights in Solihull town centre during a weekend afternoon. Maybe nowhere in this country is safe for kids!

Using a percentage seems strange. That would mean Man Utd could have 7,500 standing, Burnley 2,100. Yet in Germany, Dortmund have 25,000 I believe, standing in one stand.
