Close by lowerhouse and cornfields are pretty good. Always caught bigger in Lowerhouse. Normally use he method feeder with pellet. Plenty of good lakes within 40 min drive though like whitmore fisheries

If you fancy a go at fly fishing for trout then there are a number of good local spots. Stocks reservoir nr Slaidburn would be your best bet as a starting point. The local professionals can get you set up and provide lessons in casting, boat craft and fishing techniques.

If you book a fishing trip to Love Island, you'll almost certainly catch crabs.

A few decent sized Tesco shopping trolleys to be found on the Burnley canal just under the Burnley Wood bridge.

Coarse fishing wise, when I used to live in Lancashire I used to fish a lake nr clitheroe on a59, opposite where ‘services’ are now. If still there I’d recommend it, caught loads in my teens.

Hi there,
I am on the committee of Pendle Burnley and District AA and head bailiff on Lowerhouse.
What type of fishing you looking for??
Check out the Lowerhouse Facebook page.
So Lowerhouse has Carp, Mirrors to high teens, commons to over 20, ghosts to 10lb.
Eels to 8lbs.
Tench to over 5lbs.
Bream and Roach.
There’s a wall down the middle, get yourself a 14oz guru pre loaded waggler and fish over the wall about a foot deep with a banded pellet and fire in a couple of pellets each cast, recast every few minutes and you can catch 30 carp in a session.

That'll be Pine Lodges, I've not been on there for almost 20 years. I spent many days on there pulling out between 50 and 80 each session! You could go up there with a broom stick and line with a bit on bread on and still catch!
Sadly it's now shut down, I believe it's been drained and converted into holiday homes or something along those lines.

That’s a shame and shows how long I’ve been away. I used to go to loads of lakes and reservoirs but can’t recall their names to advise where to go but tight lines wherever you end up.

That was like reliving an episode of frogging with Scoff Cruddle

Think it is either cornfields or lowerhouse then. Going to try the method feeder with a 8m pellet on hair.

If your using a method feeder, you need to cast onto the wall that runs through the middle. The two islands are sat on the wall so they give you a clue where it’s at.

Only been fishing twice. The first time we just got p1ssed and didn't really do any fishing.
The second time I caught 4 Mackerel (the king of fish) off the North Yorkshire coast. Within the hour they were on the barbecue.
The freshness is making me salivate now.
