Obviously to young, her and Margaret Smith in the 70s were the Wimbledon names that dominated from memory. Billy Jean King was just on the scene I think but younger.

I remember het playing at Wimbledon. It was at the time they all wore a dress and a twinset cardigan to start the match. She kept hers on longer!
She also used to come each year and get presented as a past champion. Elegant lady and player.

One of my first sporting loves, along with Anne Packer.
