Be ironic if Zidane was appointed and they won the tournament, strange decision, i know Lopetegui was heavily linked to Real, but you'd nave imagined they would reassess at the end of this competition.

That they want someone with maybe at least an ounce of integrity, perhaps?

Whatever the reason sacking the manager on the eve of the WC Seems rather late in any circumstances.

It wasn't too clever announcing he'd be leaving two days before the competition started. Knowing Perez he will have pushed to announce it asap. He may also have wanted Lopetegui to leave before the WC as had he been in charge of a team that had failed it wouldn't have looked too good to the rather demanding Real socios (and media).

Bobby Robson agreed to manage PSV before Italia 90.

Are you suggesting Bobby Robson had no integrity?

Bobby Robson agreed to join PSV before the World Cup started in 1990. It didn’t do us any harm. It’s no big deal imo.

Edit. Beaten to it.

Very Political. Think Spanish federation trying to send message to Real Madrid.

Juan Coyle is available and on his way. He was a legend at Real Tosser De Mar.

Bobby Robson was hammered by the media following a disastrous Euro 88 and he was an unpopular choice to lead us into Italia 90 and the performance in the first game against Ireland compounded that. Then the upturn in form led to Robson's popularity rising but you cant blame him for looking for another job prior to that world cup because quite frankly for two years nobody wanted him as England Manager apart from the FA.

Also - Robson had been told that his contract would not be renewed prior to the WC. Why would he not have another job lined up?
