I'm very meh about the under-performing England team over the years. Yes, I hope they do well, but it's no more than they should....

On the other hand, Iceland....... can't wait to watch them

Anyone else got a close second?

I want Portugal to win, Ronaldo deserves it and I think they're being underestimated heading into the tournament, they don't have the world beaters around Ronaldo but defensively they're fantastic, tough to beat and star power in forward areas.

Plenty of teams that will be fun or exciting to watch outside the England games. Love the passion and players or Uruguay and the way they punch above their weight. Would like to see JBG perform and dont mind iceland in spite of them ruining our hopes in 2016.

Hoping Serbia do well though. Have some very good friends there. Would be good to see them havea good run.

My second team is usually Holland, alas they didn’t make it through qualy. Germany took Hollands’ spot as #2, gotta stick with the local demographic

I’d love see Belgium make their mark in this WC, such a talented squad.

Sentimental #2….Iceland. What’s NOT to like about this bunch of overachievers? Such a brilliant team spirit and belief, not unlike our current Clarets. Having JBG in their squad doesn’t hurt either.

O/T a bit, what happening with the Icelandic guy at Cardiff we were interested in a while ago?

Yes, Iceland for me. It helps Gudmundsson is involved but it's more because they really impressed me in the Euros a couple of years ago.

It's usually Italy for me, because they avenged the 3-2 defeat of England in Mexico in 1970. I've always liked them not least because they always beat Germany. I don't like Brazil.

The dark horses Peru, from deepest darkest Peru perhaps AND not least because it's Paddington's home team.

I hope Russia do well, so them for now. I call them DRASHA.
