Can anyone recommend a conservaory supplier/installer in East Lancs able to provide the full job without using unreliable subbies. I just want someone to come in plan it to a spec then put it up with the minimum of fuss and no farting about.

Ultraframe in Clitheroe are supposed to be very good, but expensive.

Lots of firms around, one of the best ways is to ask your near neighbours who
also have a conservatory for their recommendations. (Or their horror stories, lots o cowboys about.)

I can tell you from experience, whoever you go with, don't give em any money
till the jobs done, or they'll slow up drastically. And besides, you want to check the
jobs right before you pay.

Incidentally, if you go with Ultraframe, ask em about their orangeries rather than
a conservatory. Well trendy at the mo.

My recommendation is don’t have one. Very hot in summer and very cold in winter. If you do go for one go with a proper roof with insulation and laminated glass to lessen the heat. I speak from experience

I agree. I'd only have one if we had open views overlooking miles of countryside.

Try Rishton Glass, based on West Gate three great Burnley guy's. good advice and excellent work. (i'm not one of them and I really did have mine done with them). Although it is 35degrees in there at the moment and Billy does have a point.

Dead right TOL well worth paying the extra for a proper brick built extension instead with a couple of windows in the roof for summer ventilation.

I know what you are saying. Already decided to go with a solid insulated roof and high efficiency glass to keep the heat down, so more of a room extension really. Thanks for the comments.

Rishton Glass did a fantastic job for us . 3 great guys and polite and hard working. More importantly though they really know their stuff.
We got the living roof which makes it warm in winter and cooler in summer. It really is worth paying more for all year round use. We use it every day and has honestly changed the way we live. Best thing we ever did to our house.

Consevatories are great, in my opinion.
Less expensive than an extension.
Great to sit in and enjoy the garden, birdlife etc.
A self-cleaning glass roof looks good, and works when it rains.
Never quite got this 'too hot' 'too cold' stuff : open doors and windows on the welcome, but too infrequent days, like today;
small electric heaters warm up a smallish area easily in more typical British weather.
