Dyche may not be after him now he knows that he likes to throw his toys out of the pram.

Obviously such an indisaplined and Bolshi player won’t get on with Dyche here ;)

In all fairness, Tarky's circumstances were very different. Brentford had said they'd help him get a move and then didn't. He felt it was the only way because of his need to get back to the North West.

Tarky downed tools didn’t he? Not good behaviour but if it forces a move to us then I’ll take it. Stolen Taxi’s! :-D

Bit slow with this post.

Never had a problem with this one. If you make an agreement with another party and they don't keep their word a down tools and move on response is a fair one, especially in Tarks circumstances at that time.

Not entirely sure how I feel about this Dawson one though.

On the one hand its a fairly solid statement, which could be considered a step up from his wishy washy transfer request of a few years ago. And if things are as dishevelled in the WBA recruitement camp as they are rumoured to be then a stay at home action could be considered acceptable by some.

Personally, I would land on the side of it not being acceptable. Until he leaves he is a WBA player who is being paid to do a job, so he should continue to turn up and conduct himself as a full team member (like Jay is doing). Unless he made a prior agreement with WBA that he would be leaving if a fair offer came in and their insistence on a vastly inflated price is contravening that.

Think we should give up on Dawson and look elsewhere,if West Ham are after him and he has to choose between us and them we have no chance :(

Would not agree with that at all - why would he automatically choose West Ham? We are in Europe, we are closer to his home? No reason to suggest he would go there. He might do, of course, but I wouldn't think for one minute we would have no chance.

My source says that terms were agreed with Rodriguez and Dawson a good while ago. The only stumbling block is the valuation between the two clubs, and they were a LONG way apart.

He’ll get good money at Burnley
Would be nearer to his home / family
And he would avoid the basket case club that is West Ham. He only needs to look at the last centre back who decided the grass was greener and move to West Ham. Look at Jose Fonte now - playing in China where he lost 8-0 in his first game ! Yes he will be filthy rich but he is playing thousands of mile from his home and in a league that is on a par with the Vanarama and nearly as bad as the Scottish league !!!!

second time he has thrown toys out of pram for a move to Burnley - so Dyche must like this sort of player in his dressing room then eh

We made an offer for Dawson in 2014, it was turned down and he signed a new deal at West Brom in any case.

No guarantees but, as hard it is to believe, some players don't always go for the most money.

West Ham are a strange fish that only has one fin in reality.

According to rumours they entered the window with a whopping £70m to spend. They've already spent £22m on Diop, £7m on Fabianski, £xm on Frerdicks signing on fee and £xm to bring in Pellegrini. That must be close to half of their budget.

They need replacements for Mario and Lanzini and are rumoured to have bid £37m for Anderson, along with rumours for every other player under the sun. I suspect they will run out of money if they don't manage to sell any players on. And they don't have any players that other clubs really want.

Antonio, Carroll and Reid are all getting on a bit and their frequent visits to the injury room are a real concern when you take into account their wages and actual playing time.

Hugill is a step up from placing a plant pot on the bench.

Oxford seems like hard work.

Zabalete is on his last legs.

Sam Byram is injured and attracting no interest other than a possible loan.

Ogbonna and Kouyate might attract some interest, but not a lot

The exceptions are Arnotauvic, and possibly Rice or Snodgrass. Although, the ridiculous fees they would probably ask for those players should rule them out as well. Paying high wages is also a double edged sword. It makes it easier to attract players, but harder to move them on.

Unless West Ham manage to bring in some cheaper free transfers I can see them shifting their focus towards paying with magic beans or making bids to feign interest just to push up prices for other clubs.

They're selling Arnautovic, with Man Utd supposedly interested.

Already posted on that this morning. If you still think he did it given the circumstances and given Brentford's behaviour then I can't convince you. He certainly didn't refuse to play, but his circumstances were unique.

Admittedly my source isn't Sean Dyche, but there aren't many people in the world who are better sources on club news than mine.

Don't forget I broke the Dyche contract news, with specifics, weeks and weeks before it was confirmed.

Now is the time then. I still think he'd be a terrific signing and someone we should actively pursue. Get on the blower to WBA and offer £15m and see what they do. It's absolutely clear that Dawson doesn't want to be there so they'll need to sell and replace as soon as they can given their lack of CB's. He'd be a top signing for us.

Why is there all this obsession with getting another right sided CB when we only have one left sided CB (and there's no certainty that he will be here at the start of the season)
Dawson can, of course, play RB but we also already have two for that position
Towards the end of the season Tarks was seen to fall someway short when playing on the left (granted he also only had Kevin Long alongside him)
Starting last season with only 3 CB's was poor forward planning - hope this season doesn't replicate that situation

How do know he hasn't already chosen us and W. Brom.are just being like they are? Not playing ball and inflating his price. I wouldn't mind betting that's at the root of it.

Watford have angered relegated West Brom with an offer of just £1m for Ben Foster, 35. The Baggies rate their English goalkeeper at between £10m and £12m. (Mirror)

£10-£12m for a 35 year old goalkeeper?! This is what we're up against at WBA. I swear their board are in cloud cuckoo land. One last bid of around £15m for Dawson and then move on when the inevitable response is "we want £30m". They do understand that they got relegated last season right?! That doesn't tend to increase the value of your players!!

If Foster is valued at 10 million+ what the hell is Heaton's price, younger, current England international, and plays at a Premier League club, you must be talking 30m in this loony market.

Agree on Dawson we need a decision soon or start looking elsewhere.
