It means the Minister for Brexit thinks the PM is doing her job very badly. So badly that he can't support her. It might mean that he's going to try a depose her. Watch this space!

He is one of the 'experts' of the leave campaign who assured us it would be easy and straight forward to negotiate our Brexit deal with the EU that would mean we could have our cake and eat it too.

So, when we get a leadership challenge because May's cabinet deal set up last Friday has already fallen apart, who will be the Brexiteer running for her job:
Boris - he doesn't want the poisoned chalice job until someone else has drunk ALL the poison and cleaned up afterwards.
Liam Fox - makes Boris look like a true intellectual and would make Jeremy Corbyn instantly electable.
erm ....
David Davis - man of principle, obviously. But even less popular within the Tory Party than Nicola Sturgeon would be.
Can't even think of anyone else who would even think of standing against Teresa - she's sh1t but she is their sh1t, if you know what I mean.

Well there were apparently 7 who opposed the Chequer's agreement.
The vile Suella rumoured to have gone too.
Doubt Boris will resign, so that leaves Fox?, Leadsom? and (I can't think who the other would be).

I so hope a leadership contest gets triggered by all this. May has to be the most uninspiring, weak Conservative PM in my short lifetime.

Yup, but its hard to rule a country who want something that is impossible and half of them refuse to accept it as impossible.

Your use of “the left” here is almost as cringeworthy as somebody using “coloured” further up the thread.

Famously noted for brilliant imaginings: "The day after Brexit happens the chief executives of Volkswagen, BMW, Audi etc. will all be queuing up saying we've got to have access to the 16bn market". It's suggested that in 2018 he has only spent four hours in face to face negotiation with Barnier. Chaos reigns.

He's on the radio now.

Reckons his version of Brexit would be better from a sovereignty point of view but crucially, worse from an economic point of view.

Still, at least one of them is finally being honest.

Weird

“I like @theresa_may. I think she is a good prime minister”. and goes on that he thinks its best for the govt for him to go so he can be replaced by a minister who supports Theresa Mays strategy.

Even taking that you are right that it's impossible (i disagree, obviously)

Do you not find it even slightly worrying that we are bound to an organisation that has control over our money, laws and border (everything that makes a country a country) and have no way of ever getting out? You may like the direction the EU goes in now, but will you in 10 years? in 20? What if they become more authoritarian, even totalitarian? It's not good to be so helplessly bound to a foreign power.

But they don't have control over our money, laws, or borders. As have been explained ad nauseum.

What's the point discussing any of this with you when you ignore the basic, most fundamental facts of the discussion?
Trying to have a fact based discussion with you people is like trying to scientifically prove that a fertilised egg isn't a person to a devout Christian who doesn't respect science.

Not great for Brexit but this man sticks to his principles which I like. Far too many people make a career out of toeing the line ( or corporate brown nosing) without ever being true to themselves.

I suspect Theresa May is probably an extremely hard working woman. She photographs terribly...now that shouldn't matter except it does when every time you appear in newsprint you have strange facial expression or awkward curtsy. However, she's been surrounded by the most unlikeable, untrustworthy, incompetent Cabinet.

The odious Liam Fox the slimy toe rag will see his chance for leadership. David Davis is a giant flaky puff ball and was never going to last the distance re negotiating Brexit deal. So that leaves Boris and Lord Snooty to chance their luck.

Replace "Shark Sandwich" with "Brexit" and Spinal Tap pretty much nail it!!

"Hard-working" is no use when it's accompanied by "incompetent".

She probably is hard working, as incompetent as she is you don't become leader of a major UK political party by being lazy (this isn't America). And she's probably a really decent person too, if i story about her i once heard (and largely forgot) on James O'Brien's show on LBC is to be believed.

It's a shame that you can't lead a major party in this country just as a decent person and without having to surround yourself with complete c*nts.

Highest power in our legal system (European court) You say yourself that leaving the EU will ruin us, not even to mention the membership fees (control our money) mandatory to permit permanent entry for all EU citizens to our country (control our borders). Undeniable.

Ironic.

You also totally evaded my point.

How is it healthy or a good thing to be so helplessly bound to an organisation that many do not like or trust the direction it is going in.

You've never understood this. I don't get why you haven't as you seem a sound, bright lad.

Until we have a honest debate on this with crap like that shoved out of the way this will go on and on and on.

The sensible thing to do now would be to call a General Election. Labour could then have as part of their Manifesto to scrap Brexit or at least to agree to another referendum ASAP. Of course if the Tories manage to hang on to power that put a spanner in the works!!!

Just tell me,

Do you honestly believe that is in our national long-term interest to be totally bound to an organisation like the EU with no means of escape without (supposed) total financial ruin? Do you not think that having that kind of power over member states is a tad disconcerting?
