Dehumidifier water makes good toilet water. Probably. Don't pour it down the sink.

Do you need to flush ?
Flushing the loo can use up to 7 gallons of water.

STOP WASTING WATER!

Also, if your dehumidifier jug is full and you don't need the toilet, put in some toilet paper so that you have something to flush away and then use the dehumidifier water to fill the cistern so as not to waste it.

It didn't stop raining in October, November, December, January, February, March, April and May.

What happened to the water?

It hasn't rained in Ayia Napa / Protaras / Famagusta in Cyprus for about a decade and they water all of their grass and plants in their hotels every single day.

There’s no point saving little bits of water when you realise that rich people have water features that waste gallons of water.

As the post relates to plates I'ld say plates.I save water in the toilet by sh!tting in next doors garden like a cat and burying it.

All good intentions but when your neighbour finds it he will dig it out and hose pipe it away thereby using loads more water than your toilet.

I don’t even put the plug in when I’m washing up. I just leave the tap on and use one of the brushes that you put the liquid in the handle.

I mean technically there's always the same amount of water on Earth/in the atmosphere at all times.

United Utilities lose 450 million litres of water a day. When they've sorted that and we're still short, I'll start worrying about how much water I waste.

So let me get this straight, if someone lives alone they are supposed to wait until all their plates are dirty with dried on food and mould before they should wash up?

Do you work for United Utilities?
Have you had a walk around the local reservoirs lately - they're full.
Do you panic buy?
Do you know the difference between wasting water and basic hygiene?

This is true but apparently one of the biggest problems we have in this country is the huge expanses of water we call reservoirs. In hot countries they are mainly underground whereas we keep our drinking water in the open - what happens to water in heat? Correct, it evaporates. Experts have apparently known this for years but it would be a very expensive and difficult exercise to change things, especially considering our 'normal' weather. Our infrastructure does not take into account anomalies like a nice Summer.

Northern Costa Blanca is where I hang out. It has hardly rained this year and no hose pipe bans or water use restrictions.
The problem with the UK is the small land mass and the huge population, not enough water to go around

I bet you have some ideas to solve the population problem that you think exists.

It's not rocket science.. when making a brew, just pour a little hot water on the plate and wipe with a sponge.
Simple!

So you should wash plates in dirty water? And how much are United Utilities going to reduce the rates by if we had to do this pray tell. There is no water shortage yet and now it is raining. Are we the only country in the world were we are constantly poured upon then have no water after a few short weeks of no rain.

Everybody - stop panicking.

I save water by not washing myself or my clothes. I save water plus get to the front of every queue. Plus some shops pay me to leave and don't charge for the goods in my trolley. Save water don't wash don't queue don't pay.
