It's always exciting for me to discover clubs buried in the lower levels of the football pyramid who actually show ambition and are trying (at least), and are looking to get into the Football League proper. One of these clubs are Melksham Town, who have a beautiful new stadium, and who one day might become local rivals to the likes of Bristol Rovers. If they do, fair dinkum to them. I'll be watching.

Back in the late eighties, my main contact at none of our customers used to play for Melksham Town, his name is Phil Back but he didn't Play full back, mores the pity.

Takeover at Gateshead also https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/44954340 wonder if they'll spend big to regain their Football League status.

Like Rushden and Diamonds?

FC United of Manchester will probably be pushing for the Football League in the next few years,they get upwards of 4,000 in the National League North,and definitely have potential to grow,if the likes of Forest Green Rovers can reach the league,then surely both they and Salford City can.

Just down the road from where i live. Problem is most people round here support Bath Rugby.

Forest Green always get a lot of stick because they're not a "real" club. Last time I checked, they went up and stayed up. Attendances don't just multiply by magic. It takes hard graft (like we always show these days), and real commitment from the board (hello, Mr. Garlick). Add in a huge dose of luck, and you have "ambition".

Westfields FC showed "ambition" by getting one of their FA Cup games televised nationally a couple of years ago.
