Must have got a hell of a deal. Derby v Villa will be on Sky now, if true.

No - he hasn't gone but things aren't looking good for him with the new investors having come in

Nice of them to bin him off after a decent season just after his parents both died. Hope they go down.

Smacks of a big name appointment that will fail, unless Villa are going to spend megabucks this Summer. What have Henry and Lampard achieved in management to be given such high-profile jobs.Steve Bruce whatever you might think of his methods has a track record of promotion.

They have to pay Bruce off 2m quid. That's what's holding it up.

Henry's after match intreviews will go on for days how he talks.

So if rumours are to be believed, Villa intend replacing the vastly experienced Bruce with a former great player with no experience of managing at this level. Clubs never learn. Villa only need to look at their neighbours when they sacked Rowett and brought in a big name in Zola.

Henry played a good game, talks a good game but can he manage a good game ?

For some perverse reason owners think that big name managers will make the playing squad as good as them. Lampard at Derby will flop as well.

I hope his management skills exceed his punditry skills..he didn’t half come out with some nonsensical comments at times.

Agreed on the punditry, it'd be good to see the back of him. I cant remember him ever contributing much in terms of analysis/insight when he was on.

Of course he was a terrific player and will have learnt a fair bit from his Belgium management team experience but managing a club with big expectations in a very competitive league will be a major challenge.

I guess there'll be an announcement re the keeping or axing of Bruce any time soon. Villa are only currently joint 6th favourites for promotion @9/2 - see if that varies up or down if/when there's a change of manager.
