The Aberdeen support will have a fans display on Thursday evening pre match.
This will be in memory of the club legend (genuine) Neale Cooper who made his debut for us aged 16 and by age 18 was a regular in Fergie's all conquering team. "Tattie" as he was nicknamed was the youngest of the Gothenburg Greats that beat Real Madrid to win the Cup Winners Cup in 1983. Ironically despite being the youngest he is the first to pass away.
Just thought I'd share with you what it'll all be about on Thursday.
Sure you'll respond accordingly.

This will be our first game since his passing on 28th May and is going to be fairly emotional for some of us older guys who watched him during his time here. Recently he had been working for our main club sponsor on match days and doing a bit of after dinner speaking and very popular.

I remember this being on Midweek sports special or Sportsnight, not paying 100% attention and jumping out of my skin with Brian Moores reaction

Went to a couple of Aberdeen games in 1990/91 ....would any of that team still have been playing? The players i can remember were all more recent, Scott Booth, Gilhaus, Jess, Van Der Ark ....the great Robert Connor.

Doesn't matter how often I see that it still brings a tear to the eye.
I am so lucky to have been old enough to have been there.
Two great events in 1983..... Aberdeen winning European CWC and I turned 21

I suspect that the 2200 Clarets who make the trip will be very happy to join the celebrations. We know all about club legends as we have a few of our own. Hope its a great tribute.
