What’s your favourite or recommended books ?

Recently got into reading things, mainly football books though. I’m open to any sort of genre though. Genuinely considering reading the bible because of the interesting stories

Highly recommend ' Tommy Boyle - Broken Hero ' by Mike Smith.

The story of our very own legend covers his life from the FA Cup winning captain in 1914, suffering life threatening injuries in WW1, only to return and captain the Clarets to the Division One title in 1921. Ends on a very sad note though. Probably the best book I've ever read.

I have latched onto Murder novels recently, easy on my Kindle.
I looked at a few Authors and am following Joy Ellis, Damien Boyd and LJ Ross.

All have principal DI type characters and are easy reading with plots, twists and often unpredictable ending.

Football related these are the best books I've ever read.

Walking on water - Brian Clough
Alex fergusons autobiography.
Stan the man
And my personal favourite ...... a season with verona - tim parks. A superb book about the author travelling up and down the country with verona in a thrilling 1999/00 season that not only gives you insight to italian football, but an insight to a completely new way of life and culture.

Graham Masterton detective novels based in Cork are a cracking read ..

I fully endorse the recommendation re: A season with Verona.

The Subtle art of not giving a f*ck. - Funny, but also thought provoking.

The Miracle of Castel Di Sangro by Joe Mcginnis. Possibly the best football book i have ever read.

Ready Player One - Ernest Cline

If you are a child of 80s/90s or generally just a bit of a nerd you would absolutely love it. Recommended it to countless people over the last decade who have all gone on to rank it as one of their favourite ever books.

Recently made into an infinity inferior film by Steven Spielberg (albeit, still fun).

I'd second both Braindead and Jedi's recommendations. Different genres but both quality reads

Most recent audio books.

Also got some very good 'proper' books. Depends what you are after.

Personally love anything true or funny. Inspirational or motivational.

Pies and prejudice is pretty good for any northerner. Very funny in parts and very easy to relate to throughout.
