Missing Clarets (not a serious post)

Post by wilks_bfc » Thu Jul 26, 2018 10:41 pm

Whilst watching the game at the fanzone with ClaretsPlauer commentary, Phil Bird said there was “1969 fans from East Lancashire”

Now seeing as we had an allocation of 2030, what happened to the missing 61?

On the stream it sounded like we had 100 fans there, the commentators even mentioned the Burnley fans had been quiet.

The first chant I heard was "you only sing when you're winning", just after we scored. Ironic!

For the 1st time I have to agree with you. (Shame on me)

It was so quiet. I thought we would blow the roof off there considering how special these tickets became. Can only assume the microphones were placed strategically.

At least anything I did hear was a little slower.

Lots of people went up without tickets got them through official channels.

But I must admit the 3k at the screening were ****. Expected a right atmosphere with people drinking.

Being deaf for 80 minutes, how inconvenient for you.

I guess that a lot of the 6k plus club are generally home fans and not as enthusiastic at singing...

We were singing but we weren't winning, so where's the irony ?

If you were singing before the 80th minute, my apologies.

To be fair, lost my voice a bit this morning.

V hard to be heard in the open end in block P

Start singing was good, then ridiculous penalty quietened us a lot, but still quite loud, then very loud again as we improved 2nd half.

Maybe we need some of you real fans who go to all the games but bizarrely don't have enough points next time i reckon. ;)

Okay, you're right we weren't winning. But the idea of the chant is that you mock the opposition fans for only singing when they're winning, but if we are losing and not singing we are doing the same as them!
Having said that, if we were singing when we were not winning (losing), I apologise for my comment. Excuse being I was watching a stream with poor sound.
Yes, I'm a part-time supporter, so you can call me out!

Wonder if any got stuck on the M6. That was pretty grim, as of last night (haven't checked this morning), Supermarkets were donating food to help out those stuck.

You obviously missed our 20 minute continuous rendition of "we are the longside" before we scored (this was applauded by quite a few Aberdeen fans after the game who said "we've no idea what you were singing but it sounded good".. I've certainly lost my voice

I was at the other end of the stand contains the Burnley fans and heard nothing until we scored and that was drowned out swiftly. I didn't hear the Ingerland chant but joined in with Flower of Scotland.

Too many points spoil the sound, perhaps!

The atmosphere was good. Pre game and until they scored it was excellent with chanting back and forth from both ends. They actually quitened down at one point as if theyd given up but then scored and they were much louder.

What probably didnt help was the full day session after a very long journey. The city centre was absolutely bouncing. And even though i drive night before and hadnt had that much to drink I had a pounding headache and half a voice. And im sure hundreds more were the same

Can't call you out on that one Chekhov. I openly admit I am a part time supporter, I don't ever travel away and if I have something else on Burnley FC always come second.
