Possible goalkeepers.

The most likely scenario is we stick with Lindegaard but other possible options.
Joe Hart looking for somewhere to play.
Jack Butland wants to move back to the prem.
Romero Man Utds 2nd keeper. Probably the best no.2 in the premier league.
Claudio Bravo at City
Fraser Forster is out of favour at Southampton
Liverpool now have 3 keepers that all want to play.
We need a top keeper and it would pay dividends to get one of the above in until Xmas. All above keepers need premier league games.

We aint going to get a club's second keeper. A club's third choice is more realistic, or a player who is unlikely to get any football unless they come to us on loan.

We won't know unless we ask.
They would all benefit from playing games and we have got the 2-3m quid it would cost.

Yeah maybe we should go for United's 3rd choice keeper.

I don't get the problem of the GK.As long as Tom is only out short term it will be like last season when we had Popey no 1 and Anders as no 2 just that Tom replaces Popey and off we go...

Hart - Bad player, huge wages
Butland - Huge fee, probably huge wages
Romero - Big wages
Bravo - Bad player, huge wages
Mignolet - Big wages, average player
Karius - Big wages, average player
Yeah, I don’t think so.

It would only be 4 months of high wages.
You have very high standards in goalkeeping.
Tom is out for 6 weeks so could be 10/11 games he misses.

We should have cashed in on Pope when we had chance and could have signed Pickford to be our #1. Typical Burnley - indecisive and completely missed the opportunity

If Pope is going to be out for a period of time it would be mad to rely on Lindegaard and Heaton, who hasn't played a competitive first team game this year. He's going to need to prove his fitness and resilience after such a long period on the side-lines.
(Of course Tom might get over his calf strain quickly and stay fit, but it's not a gamble we should be taking given our financial position).

My standards of goalkeeping I suppose include me not seeing them pull off a howler every Saturday night on MOTD.
We have two fit keepers that we signed for this exact eventuality.

No it couldn't. Not unles you count friendlies, and I'm sure you accept Lindegaard is good enough for friendlies.
What sort of cloud cuckoo land has Stoke allowing Butland to leave on loan without even asking for a loan fee? And for that matter, what sort of cloud cuckoo land has Butland wanting to come for 4 Premier League games before he's dropped?

Going to be difficult to persuade an established keeper to come to Burnley as it is very likely that, once Heaton and Pope at fit, any new arrival will find themselves 3rd choice.

More keepers than centre backs

I was hoping we would be playing Europa league games on Thursdays.
I had included a loan fee of a million quid in my fag packet maths. Then 20 weeks at 50k is another million. So 3m should cover a decent keeper til Xmas.
Goalkeeper is such an important position for us as we defend a lot. Making the wrong choice could cost us heavily.

Lindegaard will be fine if he has to play for a few weeks. He's been number 2 at Man United, he's not some kid we've just plucked out of the Burnley Sunday league.

So was I. 5 Europa games + 4 league games. You think a keeper of Premier League standard would come for that?
And on the other side of it, you think Man United would rather have £1m than their second choice keeper? They also think that goalkeepers are important. T another Premier League club, £1m is not an irresistable fortune. To Stoke, who are hoping to sell Butland for £30m, £1m isn't an irresistable fortune either.

We definitely need to get another keeper in. Even if its for competition / backup.
We never know how Heatons injury will affect his general fitness, never mind a recurrence of that injury.
Heaton would always have been my number one this season if he was fit. But, we definitely need three good keepers.

If that's the case, then there's no point in Legzdins being here.
We have three keepers, even allowing for Pope's injury.

There is no point in legdzins being here. Thats why he came as number three and when Heaton got injured he was instantly kept as number 3 not promoted to 2

Strange we're keeping him on then, if he isn't good enough.
I've not seen anything of him to form a judgement.

Theres clearly a reason hes still at the club. But I wpuod wager any amount of money he will never play a competetive game for us.

Forster in on loan may be a reasonable bet and precaution.
Pope it seems will be out for about three months so hopefully will be back afore Xmas
so maybe there's no need for a permanent transfer.
We do need others in which are a greater priority than a goalkeeper.
