Yeah I think we should close the club up and shut the doors - we are that poor at everything we do at the moment.

Surely not a small crowd. Loads of fans are always banging on about the ground being made bigger to accommodate all those who say they can't just walk on when they want.
They have the chance today and don't even bother, perhaps there isn't any need to do anything.

Its a meaniglness friendly ( fan wise) where we’ll likely use 20 players sandwiched in between 2 euro games on a Sunday afternoon ,could there be anything less appealing ? As for opening the ground all sides it’s simply because so ticks were sold it allows regulars to go in their usual section .Totally different to say an early round cup game which are “ real” matches .The amount of bitching that goes on about the club beggars belief .

To be fair we ARE playing everyone who is fit and in the squad and anyone barring Heston who is likely to start the season .It will be a flip flop at half time

Robbie looked really down. Everyone of the bench went up to him 1 by 1 at half time to have a quick word. He was limping quite heavily with his left leg. Fiingers crossed.

Just like the point I made earlier, when people mention the fact Brady and Defour will be back so we’re already stronger without signings.

On paper that’s correct, in reality we have no idea if they’ll ever get back to what they were after injury or how many games they’ll be able to play.

Chris Biden just tweeted that Brady is sat head in hands so that does not sound promising. Add another winger to the shopping list that already was four strong.

It is not a Sunday afternoon training session for your information because admission is being charged and they are playing against a French Ligue 1 side who finished in 10th place last season.

To be fair it’s not as if there’s any exciting new faces to show off.

The good news is that jimmy dunne looks very promising. Really impressed. Cool, 2- footed and not slow. Playing left side also.

On the Montpellier side, the fans are complaining that there is no coverage of the game. They had coverage away against local lower league opposition but nothing for this game. There are accusations of their club being a shambles. Sounds familiar. Oh and they've lined up 5-3-2.

True but we do need to expand the sick bay at the ground for both the players and the increasing number of supporters on here who have delusions about our expectations.
Despite all the £££££££££££ we will never be able to compete for long in this league as this season will likely show IMO as we see the lack of incomings and the injuries and niggles piling up given the apparent disaster with Brady now having gone off with a further problem with his left leg/knee.
Given the original injury was an avulsion injury to his left patella tendon which is a strange injury one wonders what that does to the stability of his knee.
Must be some with knowledge of such injuries on here.
Folk at the game, posting on another thread, seem to think it is a hamstring problem which if true is less worrying (I think)

From the other thread, it sounded more like a hammy tweak which isn't surprising when you have been out for a while - lets hope that is what it is.

The majority of people on here talk of ground redevelopment not massive capacity increases, there are thousands of substandard seats in the ground with the majority of these always being the last to be sold.

The Bob Lord and Cricket Field Stand have supporting pillars which are only listed as restricted view if you can't see both goals, the concourse in the Bob Lord is crowded and the CFS at times unacceptable.

The lower tier in the new stands are too low with the front three rows of the JHL below pitch level making the view abysmal and very open to the elements.

So in short any capacity increase would be nominal taking the turf from 21,900 to 23,000 at most but if people are paying £30+ for a seat we should be giving them a view expected from a top flight club in 2018 not 1988.

Anfield has restricted views, along with wooden seats. Should they knock down their stands?
