I know CM is not necessarily a priority, but what a talent this kid is. I think he would jump straight into our starting X1. Apparently Swansea are trying to sign him for around 5 million.
Surely we have to be sniffing around at that kind of fee

Very good prospect - we could do a lot worse as a Marney/Ulvestad replacement for the coming season

If it's the player who plays for Brentford he is not a kid but a 23/24 year old
Still young granted but can't be called a kid

Age is relative
Anyway, if the price/wages are too high, we probably won't be able to see the Woods for the fees

True ‘kid’ might be the wrong word. But the point is he is one of the best midfielders in the league.

That’ll cause confusion with those that already think we have Wood(s)

Did we get wood around the time we beat Blackburn?

I'll admit to having a semi on when we beat them in 2014 but the League Cup wasn't quite as exciting.

WOODS VALUATION 'NOT MET'
Brentford midfielder Ryan Woods was left out of the matchday squad by Dean Smith earlier today, although the manager said Woods had given him no indication that he wanted to leave and he was omitted for personal reasons.
"He is under a bit of stress at the moment as his wife is pregnant and close to having a baby, so it was best to leave him out," he said. "As far as I'm concerned he's a member of the squad and his valuation hasn't been met. It's as simple as that."

Would prefer Massimo Luongo if we're looking at Championship midfielders.

I don’t know much about him but sounds like a decent character from what I’ve read. Named the ginger Pirlo at Shrewsbury, apparently.

Let's get him signed. Teach Swansea to try and off load a crock player on us.

If ever there was a "player for sale" comment this is one.!

Younger, cheaper and genuinely no worse a player in my eyes than Clucas. Would be a shrewd signing.

They do sound quite different.

Both relatively versatile players who specialise at defensive mid. Similar profiles

Ryan appears to be predominantly right footed
Whereas we are looking for a predominantly left footed player
Just an observation

Not sure that is correct. Clucas is versatile, but i think he played his best football for Hull further forwards, either on the left flank or as the most advanced of 3 central midfielders (that is certainly where he played quite a bit under Silva).

Are we? We're looking to replace Marney and Arfield this summer, both were right footers. The way our wingers play I genuinely don't think it matters if they're right or left footed and id it's a CM it wouldn't matter anyway

By accounts from Hull supporters, he was poor at left mid. Centre mid is his best spot.
