FA have just said..
1] they are going to do an in-depth feasibility study to see if we can host the 2030 World Cup.
2] even if Qatar have the next World Cup 'taken off them' we will not go near it, we won't be interested.
- good news on both fronts I reckon.

I wonder what an in-depth feasibility study involves?

Wasn't it muted that Britain and Ireland could hold the 2030 WC?

I suppose I should assume your question was rhetorical but just in case it wasn't.
A feasibility study is a type of analysis used in measuring the ability and likelihood to successfully complete a project including all relevant factors.

Should give us enough time to double capacity at Turf Moor so we can host some games then

Whether we can stuff a brown envelope thicker than a third world dictator can.

That is in fact incorrect. I believe my answer to be the correct one

I wouldn't waste the time. FIFA want to push World Cups to more of the "developing" (in terms of marketing) world and they've shown a shocking animosity towards previous England bids in the past.
Besides, I expect Uruguay will help host the 2030 World Cup along with Paraguay and Argentina. It's the centenary edition, after all.

I agree exile. I would imagine the 2034 tournament to be a good shout for England.
The centenary in Uruguay, sling with some of their South American neighbours, looks tasty.

I think FIFA will want the centenary World cup to be back in South America, plus we don't seem to be that popular around the world think we should save ourselves the time and cost of a failed bid. Surely only a matter of time till China bids for and gets it with their influence and financial clout.

I guess what I meant was how in depth does it need to be?
- is there enough stadiums with sufficient capacity/ facilities?
- can we accommodate an influx of football fans into the cities where the stadiums are located?
- can it be policed?*
What else is there to study?
"In-depth" just sounds like an excuse for the FA to **** millions up the wall.
*the way police budgets are being cut we'd probably fail at this hurdle.

Fifa and the rest of the world infact take the **** out of the UK on a daily basis.
We could hold the World Cup tomorrow and it would be smooth sailing.
I don't know why these big organisations have it in for us?

We'll be back in the 4th Division (2nd in today's money) with everyone complaining about how brexit ruined our Club, by then.

What would be our WC stadiums? Currently Wembley, London Stadium, Emirates, WHL, Old Trafford, Etihad, Anfield, St James' Park. There'd need to be one in the Midlands so Villa Park.
By 2030 FIFA will probably have extended the WC to 128 teams. You could probably stage Armenia v Belize pretty much anywhere c

2030? Without being too obtuse if i'm spared i'll be 75 so doubt I would be that fussed about it and I have fears for how the game might develop in the intervening years with TV and Sponsorship being in full control of it!!

The corporate benevolents think global is a solution, especially with regard to disease and driving standards, so it will probably by then be on a global seeded F.A. Cup-type knockout format on a yearly basis with the last few matches wherever, a bit like how Euro 2020 will work. Some might argue that one international match a year for some is too little, who knows...

My guess for 2030 would be Uruguay, the in depth feasibility should be a phone call the the Urugian FA, with 1 question, are you intending bidding for it?

Due to current FIFA regulations grounds such as Anfield could not stage World Cup finals games, they are too close to houses, nowadays there has to be a large exclusion zone such as can be created around OT, Wembley, London Stadium, Etihad. Even the new Spurs ground is unlikely to qualify, the new Everton ground would probably be ok . There would have to be quite a few new stadia built before we could host a World Cup.
