Looks to be a done deal.

Fee could rise as high as £24m.

Unbelievable price given his injury history and lack of game time recently.

I'd be nowhere near him at that price. Liverpool must be p!ssing themselves.

Wow. On the face of it £24 million is nuts, but it depends a lot on how much of that £24 million is up front and how much is dependent on appearances and goals. If he essentially has to prove his worth before it's realised in Liverpool's pocket then it might not be as crazy as it sounds.

I also expect Zaha to go for a massively inflated fee in this market, so perhaps a deal is done there that they've incorporated into their spend on Ings?

I imagine the fee is nowhere near £24 million unless he proves himself, in which case they'll be happy to pay it.

So presuming £24,000,000 is the correct fee and if the full amount is based depending on the possible goals/appearance add ons, should see £4,375,000 to Burnley.

Suspect it’ll take us a long time, if ever, to get that amount.

The dry powder store was infiltrated a few days ago. Some suspect foul play (Yes you Mr Garlick). However Im not one to tell porkies or gossip. But what I will say is that this good fortune (The Ings money) will be the rebirth of “The Dry Powder Facility”

We got £6.5m rising to £8m from the tribunal but we won't have got a penny of that extra £1.5 million. Therefore we'll get 25% of anything above that £6.5m figure.

Yes, if he plays 950 games, scores 500 goals and wins 75 England caps, we'll be billing Liverpool for over £4m. Kerching!

It sounds a lot of money but how much will Wells and Walters end up costing us assuming we're stuck with them for the duration of their contracts?

Deals like this simply aren't sustainable. The bubble will burst eventually. Palace will end up paying Liverpool near £90m for Ings, Benteke and Sahko. Astonishing. I'd rather keep our powder dry!!

If he can stay fit he can do a job. Zaha is still not their No9 and has been playing on the wing during preseason with Sørloth up front, pop Ings up there instead even just to pull defenders around to give Zaha space and score the odd tap in.

Wow !
Benteke - how many did he score last season ?
Sahko - how many games did he play last season ?
Ings - how many times has he played on last 3 years ?

Nearly £100m in transfer fees - and I doubt any of them are on less than £4m a year.

And we have fans who bang on every day about Wells and Walters ; or Juke and Sordell.
Total transfer value for all 4 - less than the total profit we will end up making on Danny Ings !!

isn't the fee that the Palace crackpots are rumoured to be able to pay "only" £20m with £4m add ons

A Palace fan I know says in the press etc down there they wanted him on a loan deal with a view to a permanent transfer.

Absolutely. I sound like a broken record saying we should be careful and prudent but deals like these blow my mind. Rumour has it Palace are also paying this Meyer kid £170k a week. I what world can we compete with that? We shouldn't even try. £8m looks a decent price for Clucas - certainly better value than many have paid this summer.

to be fair if I was allowed to pick the team, those three would be starters. I'd have Ings off Benteke any day of the week in front of Wood/Barnes FFS

Benteke would never ever be good enough either physically or mentally for us to risk paying good money for him

By my calculation if you were manager we would be about £35m worse off in transfer fees, £8m a year worse off in wages, and £25m worse off in Sky prize money as we will have been relegated last year with our 2 strikers managing total goals in the season of about 3 !!!

Benteke has scored 18 league goals in 66 PL appearances for Palace.
Wood got 10 in 24 last season and he was injured for a decent chunk of it.

I can't imagine why you'd prefer Benteke over Wood.

I saw Benteke quite a lot on TV for Palace last season. I noticed only one really good game and that was in their surprising comprehensive 3-0 win at Leicester. For the first twenty minutes he was his usual waste of space self but then he scored. After that he worked hard, both tackling back and being an attacking threat.

He can do it but that was the only time I've seen it.

Saw rumours about Zaha a couple of days ago, apparently he is available for a cost-price 45 million,in the current market that's looks low,but again he has had injury issues.

20% Add on for Ings

IF Danny boy leaves Liverpool today. The LET is saying Burnley will receive 20% of any profit made by Liverpool. I assume its profit not fee.Every little helps

We've not done bad have we with some of the players we've sold. I'm sure the players will be happier now they're are on money, but the likes of Gray, Ings and Keane have not exactly done better since leaving.

Bit of a strange one. If Liverpool genuinely wanted to get rid why did they slap that hugely over inflated price tag on him?

You can't blame the lad for wanting to take his chance at a massive club like Liverpool. He has just been unlucky with injuries during his career and that is not his fault. He obviously just wants to play football , thats why he wants away from anfield. He could just sit around picking up a good wage but he wants to play.
