Really? You must embarrass quite easily then. Why are you embarrassed about something you are not responsible for and have no control over?cricketfieldclarets wrote:I've never been so embarrassed. Absolutely pathetic.

If only people didn't have other things in life - like living or working nowhere near Burnley so making mid week games impossible. Or going away during the school summer holidays - how dare they. They should hang their heads in shame.

That was the best atmosphere not only on a match but also the JHU was rocking, fantastic to be a part of it and long may it continue. The 2 (and I must make it clear the minority as the Aberdeen Fans were fantastic) away fans who decided to come in the JHU 10 mins before full time and actually sit on a Burnley fans knee, and then refuse to leave were very very lucky...

I presume you are in the Cricketfield Stand???
The one wanted by BFC supporters to be able to stand and sing for 90 mins???
Well bloody do it then, Longside were louder then you lot for most of the game.
You lot should be getting behind the team for 90 mins as the rest of us can hardly be be heard so do it.
Stop moaning about attendance, people have kids and only have 6 week period to take them on Holiday.

Getting wupped by a 9 man Rochdale was the toughest for me. The Hereford game was just farcical. As was the wolves, Steve bull show, the week after or before, can't remember. But to Rochdale was really tough.Jimmymaccer wrote:Er Hereford at home.....

A lot were missing but a great chance to get on a game for many who normally do not, and a fantastic atmosphere from those of us who were there.
Dyche and the players were left in no doubt how much winning this match meant to the fans, and they dug deep and responded.

I was in the longside upper for a change from the cricket. I thought it would be quiet but I wanted to have a better view.
I was wrong a great atmosphere up there. My favourite game on the turf for a long while.

Do you not think that the turnout in the family stand may have something to do with the match being played during the school holidays and not finishing until after 10pm on a weekday?cricketfieldclarets wrote:Aberdeen fans post match said the Cfs was electric in both ends. Not selling out is poor end of.
There are a whole host of crap excuses. The truth is it should have been 22000 on last night.

Re: Turnout tonight
Personally I am thankful to the fact that many people in Burnley are on their holidays at the moment.
It meant I was able to get a ticket in the Longside upper in the middle. Not a chance normally.
There were as mentioned a few empty seats in the JM end, however it was hardly an embarrassing turn out, far from it. On arriving in Burnley at about 4pm I just knew it was going to be a special night.
Arrived home at 2.30am after battling motorway closures.. GREAT NIGHT.

Re: Turnout tonight
My point is that as it’s the school holidays many people are on out of the country on holiday. The other point is that as it’s a night game with a decent chance of going to extra time many people will have decided that they can’t justify keeping their child up that late. Another point is that as it’s a midweek game, many people who live further afield and have work in the morning may not be able to justify the lack of sleep.cricketfieldclarets wrote:Well now it's the holidays I'm allowed to stay up and play out all night!

There’s plenty of reasons why we didn’t sell out and that the family stand was the emptiest. We only just fill the ground at the best of times so it’s no surprise, considering the circumstances I’ve listed above that we were a few thousand short of capacity.
My party was down to two as one of my brothers lives and works in London and the other is abroad on holiday. They would both have attended if this was a Saturday game in September.

Re: Turnout tonight
A lot of the empty seats in the back of jmc lower are normally occupied by corporate hospitality and last night there was no corporates.
There were quite a lot empty in the upper tier but they would be family season ticket seats with kids and probably on holiday.
Again many fans who live a long way from Burnley would find it difficult to travel on a Thursday night due to work commitments.
Personally I thought it was an excellent gate in the circumsttances and and one of the best for atmosphere for a long time.
