Their league football is in a bad way. But I'd bet that if the whole lot were offered to assimilate into the EFL they'd turn it down.

I’m not sure of the need for this as there seems to have been a decent amount of mutual respect between the teams. Did you expect us to beat you 26,000,000 - 175,000?

There was a large gulf between the teams tonight, as there was in the first leg. It was a well contested tie but it was clear which team cost £26m (supposedly) to assemble and which cost £175k. Footballer’s transfer fees increase exponentially the higher up the football pyramid you go. We drew against Man City last season who have spent way over half a billion at a guess. I don’t expect them to be 20 times better than us.

The thing most fans north of the border don't understand is how monumental Burnley's season was last year.
We massively over performed.
I never thought we would see European football at the turf in my lifetime and I turned down a decent pay day so I could be there with my oldest son tonight.
The bookies may have made us favourites but this was a 50/50 game against a side that have been on this stage far more often than we have.
They have a lot in common with us when it comes to competeing with teams with far more clout, but they don't face anything like the financial monsters of the premier league or even the championship in the league they finished 2nd in.
It's a good job it was us who they played because had it been city, Liverpool, United, spurs or Chelsea they had to compete with, they probably wouldn't be feeling so proud following a 2 leg scoreline

Aberdeen did to us what we have done so well at in games against the 'big clubs' and so badly at against lower division teams - they made themselves horrible to play against. Hustle, bustle, niggle, fall over, push, deny space where it matters and by-pass midfield by putting the ball into channels or going direct.

Someone said last night that they kept us playing pitch-wide in both games and made sure our defenders had no easy passes out. That is why we have heard Conte, Mouninho, Klopp, Pep and others whingeing on about how they should have won games against us easily and then seen this messageboard go into meltdown about performances against Lincoln, Accy and others in the cups.
