Dear me. No teams are as pumped as tonight's opposition on a regular basis. We will be taking Aberdeens mentality with us to Southampton.

I think the OP is a little disrespectful towards Aberdeen who have had a real go.

We go into Southampton game having played tough real games. We will be much better prepared than them

He was holding his lower stomach/wedding tackle after an early collision. Hopefully precautionary, so probably 3 months out!

Nope, there's nothing positive in that last part.

On the basis of a couple of challenging pre season games?

P!SS poor post by the originator of this thread, we've scored three tonight and one away against an Aberdeen side who were really up for it and defended with their hearts and were good on the break. Very early season start and players have given everything, a complete and utter disrespectful post, to Burnley FC, the players and the management.

I’d rate aberdeeen as a second division side ? Apart from joey we have no one who can go past a man ... sorry but I just think we’ve missed a trick this season ... I hope you guys are right ... not an attention post , just a genuine concern .

Bloody season hasn't even started yet, and we go into it with enough strength and wisdom gained from last seasons efforts; yes we need a couple of signings, but bottom 3, my backside.

JBG gets better every game , keeper loks confident , vokes playing well , ward and lowton solid and whipping balls in , Taylor did well with the assist, the positives go on , some very good passages of play in the second half early on in particular moving the ball quickly , if we get Brady and defour back , along with Heaton we realistically need another 3 in , not a disaster and with the right acquisitions we could be mid table come may

Yea like I say I hope your right . To me we just lack creative players and I think we may get caught out this season .... it’s just my opinion . I hope I’m wrong , but i can’t see it

Just enjoy tonight ffs
Through to the next round
That’s football. We play well against far better teams on a weekly basis and have for 2 years now. Have a little respect for Aberdeen

FFS just enjoy the moment. Just got of the turf. Absolutely buzzing, great game, great atmosphere, just won our first European tie in 50 plus years, about to head off to Istanbul with our amazing clarets.
Breathe it in, enjoy it. Who knows when this will come around again. UTC

Well you are wrong! Because the players have more spirit and more bottle than you. Aberdeen worked throughout both matches. Get a grip!

Of course we lack creativity Defour and Brady are injured, good to see McNeil get some experience in such a big game.Tricky tie but we came through in the end,Cork showing his quality once again.

Would love to see Brady back in the left with JBG right, Defour and Cork central. Barnes up top with Vokes or Wood. Just a little bit more invention in the side would unlock so many doors

I'm over the moon. I really thought we'd get neat. Not because Aberdeen are better, but the way fate has been dealing it's cards lately I thought it was in the stars.
Not a great performance, although we had chances to be more comfortable, but we showed that strong jaw when we needed to, and that alone is worth celebrating.
Well done lads.

Hmmmm. I dont get this Aberdeen are a 2nd div side - soes that mean league 2? If so that is rubbish. They would make a decent fist of the Championship- maybe not promotion runners but certainly not relegation.
We played ok. They worked hard and frustrated us and had plenty of pace on the counter but all rold we just had too much quality in the end.
Fair play to thw Dons though. They made a real tie of it and had me sweating i can tell you!!

For a Maori hard man Wood is a bit light weight to be honest.

I don't know how long you've been following Burnley, but clearly it's not long enough to remember last season.

It's a thing that flexes. (I think.)

I’m glad it’s only his hip flexor because I was worried that it was his leg.

Well I think one of our problems is that at times we fanny about around the box and should be more prepared to shoot rather than walk the ball into the net. But it was a great night and atmosphere. It maybe that I have missed this aspect of SD before. He behaved as if he was absolutely livid with the defence after their equaliser

He was livid with Wood for a really insipid defensive header right back across the goal which their lad overhead kicked it into the net!

we where pretty average to down right garbage for the majority of both legs, yet we just knocked out the team who finished 2nd in Scotland. When I was a kid the likes of Aberdeen and Dundee Utd where doing well in Europe and around a similar time we where losing 0-6 at home to Hereford - mind boggling stuff !

We hardly had anyone to go past a man last season, yet somehow finished comfortably in 7th spot.
