Aren’t the club going to announce transport? It sounds like that on the ticket announcement. Surely after collecting tickets?

Golden - looking at the map, Ataturk looks nearer the ground than the city centre. If you’re not getting in til 6 you’ll be better off heading straight to the ground. If you head for the city you’ll need to leave as soon as you’ve got there.

Basaksehir stadium is far off city centre, such as Taksim square or Sultanahmet (old town) areas are within 30/35 kms distance. The kick off is at 21:45 so at the end of the game, public transportation from that area to city centre will not be an option. Considering the number of Burnley fans coming to the game, amount of taxis - sorry to say this but most of them will be asking more than taximeters' charge as it happens in every metropols - may not be enough at that time of the day.

It’s cost us that’s to get the hotel to pick us up from the airport (the one on the Asian side). Could have got it cheaper getting a taxi outside but less hassle this way.

From what I’ve read it looks like it will cost about £25 to the ground in a street Taxi. Not too bad.

Average taxi from the airport to Taksim is around 70 lira looking online. £10-15 I’d have thought. Can’t see the stadium being much more looking at a map. Guess it’s making sure you agree the price and not being conned.

Depends which airport. I’m flying to the one on the Asian side, which looks a similar distance from the City centre as Başakşehir - except in exactly the opposite direction!

From the main airport aye. It’s a lot closer to the centre than the one we fly in to.

For those planning on taking taxis from the centre of Istanbul. Getting one there should be easy but getting one back after the match at around 11.30pm might be a bit problematic. You don't want to be stuck out in the sticks late at night.

Just booked. Arriving via Izmir into S Gokcen airport Wednesday afternoon. Staying near Taksim Sq. I missed Aberdeen so looking forward to this!

If the club are arranging ticket collection in the city centre, is it too much to ask that they might lay on a few buses to and from the stadium as well?

They are waiting for a reply.

The club will no doubt be having to deal/consult with UEFA, the Turkish authorities, Basaksehir and who knows who else. It won'y be easy or quick! Be yeah, lets criticise our club!
