Let's hope it is at least a 4 year deal with an option, oh and no option to go if an offer of £20million comes in

Blimey Wiki already have him as a Burnley player and squad number 22. Hadn't realised Lindegaard was leaving :D :D

CT - We've come a long way, never in my lifetime did I ever expect us to attract these sort of footballers again. The days of O'Neil, Morgan and Ralph are with us again. A great journey for all Clarets.

WillieIrvine you forgot to add the name of Willie Irvine

I was provisionally disgusted when it became clear just before the last deadline that we were to risk only having 3 cbs. Well we rode our luck with that. I am provisionally delighted tonight. However lets see if ben stays before going overboard.

Indeed I did ! What a player he was! He'd be worth a bob or two in today's market

Brilliant signing and well done to all of the transfer team at Burnley. Taken some fair stick this summer but this is quite a statement of a signing. 2/3 years ago Middlesborough were lightyears ahead of us in terms of finance and now we've (seemingly) picked up their captain for a relative pittance in todays crazy market and beaten off competition. Great days to be a Claret!

In my first ever Burnley game I saw Willie Irvine score a hat-trick at Spurs

Indeed. Now let's put the money we've saved on this deal towards
securing JayRods signature.

Gibson sits on the bench whilst he learns the Burnley Way.

Just maybe we will play 352 and get 3 in cm and 2 strikers on the pitch and avoid the need for that expensive elusive nr 10. Brady is ideal for a left wing back.

Will be an excellent signing. Look forward to seeing him holding the shirt on the pitch very soon....

Don't think we have 15 million pound bench warmers at the Turf.

No way we need to sell Mee. We need both not one or the other. Unless Dawson comes. But maybe both he and WBA have ****** on their chips with that one.

We could play 50 or more games this season. We need multiple players for the same position, and options for different systems.

A left sided centre half is hard to find. We have two English ones!

Don't need to sell him, but what if he wants away?

Don't think anyone wants to sell ben. Does he want away? Well the ball's in his court now. Well done bfc for eventually forcing his hand. My guess is that he is off and dawson will be in.

He can st out the contract he signed. And either play for the next 12 months in The Premier League and European competition. OR waste a year at his peak and see where he ends up in 12 months...

I sometimes struggle to get my head round what's happened at our football club. You mention three wonderful players there but once that decline set in I never, ever thought I'd see top flight football again let alone what's happening now. I know the window has been frustrating somewhat, and we've still not confirmed a signing, but two nights ago I was watching us win a game in European competition for the first time in 52 seasons. I'm loving the whole thing.

Yes Tony it is amazing how far we have come particularly over the last 5-8 years. We have hit it right with SD and the recent promotions/relegation to and from the PL. Signing players of such class and at such fees is nearly unbelievable as is playing in Europe and finishing 7th in one of the best leagues in the world. As you say " I'm loving the whole thing", as are we but reading this board I sometimes wonder!!

Before the start of the season when we went up to the Premier League via the Play Offs I never ever thought that we would again get to the top division in my lifetime

What has happened at my Club over the last few years has been truly Magnificent and I sometimes have to pinch myself to make sure I'm not dreaming

Great. A good player who will provide real competition for Ben and Tarks.

I'll be even happier when BFC announce it. Have we ever announced a signing on a weekend though? We usually have to do all the interviews for Clarets Player before making any announcements.

Dawson allegedly refusing to play for WBA at the moment - citing a minor niggle according to the Baggies fans who were on the train today. Not selected in their match-day squad today.

What did Stan Ternent say about some Burnley fans?

Something like......You give them £5 and they ask why you've not given them £10

I'll wait until he's had his medical and the club officialise it.

You couldn't get a better reference from an employer than the one given by Pulis. Yes, I know who Gibson's uncle is but I don't think Pulis had to go that extent to please the club's owner.

I have mentioned recently on here that Ben Gibson would for me be my first choice of a centre back to bring to the club

But I thought that wages would be a problem and Middlesbrough would also want too big a fee

It looks like I was wrong

Pulls doesn't seem too disappointed to see him go.

Time will tell whether he's worth £15m

Hope he's not the next Leon Cort

Hopefully we'll get the contract signed off in the next day or two then we can be really pleased at an excellent signing. £15m seems superb value. Last year he was being heavily linked to Chelsea and Liverpool for £25m.

"Really good, he was too loyal really should have moved on a couple of season back, far too good for the championship, he’s quality and top pro"

From a boro supporting mate. Exactly what I'd want to hear.
