Are the Broadcasters making the quality of Standard definition worse to promote there HD package, iv just turned over from the Community shield game on BT HD to Sky Sports SD ( To see if Leeds were losing yet ) and the sky channel is absolutely terrible quality,

If you can see OK in SD why bother paying for the HD?

Can depend on your broadband speed. I used to have Sky on SD and the picture quality was awful until I upgraded to faster fibre and then it was fine. Admittedly not as good as HD, but perfectly watchable.

Really? mines fine have you tried playing with cables at the back to make sure all is connected?

When we did have picture problems it was the fixing from the TV cable to the arial the fitter said it's a common fault.

This started several years ago. So yes, they have.

What size screen did you watch it on?

Sky have offered me the full sports package in HD for £17 pm over 18 months. Is it a good deal?

Nope. HD should now be no extra, with Ultra HD the additional cost.

£15 for the sports and £2 for the HD even though I already have a HD package on my current subscription. He said the sports HD wouldn't be included in it.

All games are filmed on HD cameras now, so any SD is just compressed and descaled HD images, coupled with the fact were all used to HD and even 4K.

I refuse to PAY for HD... the broadcasters are taking the **** when HD is now industry standard.

HD is what used to be SD in terms of default. Like Claptrappers says, they are taking the Michael. And Sky need to sort their lives out and start the channel guide with HD. Why would anybody prefer to watch BBC1 SD when they have the option of HD?

I can imagine it matters if you spend an arm and a leg and lots of time in front of your tv.
I doubt it will ever matter to me

BBC can't even show the regional news in HD. Pathetic.
