I hear a bid has gone in for Pickford

May as well go for a full house.

Initial 2yr deal.

Surely this means one of Pope or Heaton will be leaving, though probably not this window. Can't imagine we can afford to put first team wages into three keepers.

Hoping he finds his form again. Welcome Joe!

God our recruitment team are Awful. 2 England internationals for less than £20m is pathetic. We should have signed 3 unknown players from the Balkans instead as one of them may have turned out to be a world beater ;)

Well done BFC in taking swift action to resolve our goalkeeper issues and let's hope Mercer can work his magic on him. Welcome aboard Joe.

Welcome to the Turf Joe.

If anyone can make you what you were, it's Billy Mercer.

You wait years for an England goalkeeper to play for your club and then 3 come along at once!

Welcome JH, might not have had the best past few seasons but no better place to regain his form than under our goalkeeping coach

Head and shoulders in our goal, in our goal
Head and shoulders in our goal, in our goal

Joe Hart is here to stop it going in

Head and shoulders in our goal, in our goal

Sorry, couldn't resist a re-wording of the knees and toes nursery rhyme.

Good player brought in quickly. Excellent response to an unexpected need for a goalkeeper.

Welcome to the club Joe.

3 England keepers and make that 4 having had Robinson. Which means we have had 2 of englands top 10 cap goalkeepers recently.

No wonder Heaton and Pope came on so well attracting competition like that.

Welcome to Burnley Joe.

We have possibly the strongest set of goalkeepers in the world.

What would Hart's resale value be if Mercer was to work his magic on him and get him back to his best and back in the England squad?

Could be a shrewd bit of business to cash in on him when Pope is fit again (assuming we are not planning on selling Heaton or Pope).

If that happened then why would we want to sell? But I reckon we could triple our money in a years time if that happened.

Welcome to BFC Joe.

There is no doubt that if he finds his form he is an excellent keeper.

However this does imply that either Heaton's injury is worse than reported or that it has become apparent that we cannot keep Heaton and Pope happy longer term.

However Heaton/Pope backed up (or being pushed) by Hart and Lindegaard is not a bad place to be.

Not a bad bit of business.

Imagine, ten years ago, we're spending 3 million on Fletcher from Hibs in our first ever season in the Premier League, thinking "this is just a one season fluke", now we're buying the best players from Derby and Boro and signing the likes of Lennon and Hart....

It's incredible really.

I dont understand this suggestion about Heaton being worse. Its simply being out so long means he will get niggles and need to prove himself.

It's an insurance policy we can afford to take. And s good one at that. Will also be good for competition.

Hart Heaton and Lindegarrd looks a million times more reassuring than Heaton, Lindegaard and Legdzins.

While I'm happy with the signing, I still don't get it.

I just can't imagine a scenario where Joe Hart will be happy to come here and potentially end up sitting on the bench behind Heaton or Pope.

Neither can I. And he wont be. Which is exactly why it's a good signing.

He’ll be hoping that he can perform well enough to keep them out, like Pope did with Heaton at the end of last season.

You've got Pope injured for months which means, he's challenging Heaton for the number one spot or Heaton is off.

If it is an insurance policy then it really is one we can afford to take.

I know he's had a difficult time but we've just signed a 31 year old goalkeeper with 75 England caps having just signed one of the highest rated defenders in the Championship. Been a very good couple of days.

I was one who ridiculed Joe Hart before the World Cup because of the media expectations for the squad, and I could see that Pope deserved to be there on form.

I don’t mind admitting that I am extremely happy with Joe Hart joining our magnificent club, with the team mindset and ethos along with Billy Mercer coaching him, I am sure he will be back to his best and back in the England squad before long.

Welcome Joe, now you’re a Claret you have my full support UTC

I can't see how we can keep all three happy so you'd assume one will be sold at some point. I picked Hart specifically to highlight what a good bit of business it could be: £4m + 1 years wage outlay for potentially £10 - £15m return.

this is a cracking move for both parties. another strong character in the dressing room and whilst he's understandably lost his way a bit, hart is pretty much in his prime at 31. he knows he'll have to prove himself here which is only positive news for us.

with gibson its two fantastic bits of business this window.

Still seems like a strange one to me. Hart is clearly not coming to sit on the bench, bit of a shabby way to treat our club captain if you ask me.

I'm just struggling to believe that he'd come here knowing that it's likely that he won't be first choice.

That's the concern, or that Heaton's injury is more serious than just a calf strain.

Perhaps our club captain had previously been considering his future prior to Pope's injury and has options in place? Otherwise I agree, it doesn't make too much sense (If Tom's injury is trivial)

Its nothing to do with the new injury.
