Is that on the strength of the corner we got......or that shot where we nearly woke their keeper up??

According to the BBC website we are playing at Turk Moor next week

Will be a toughie next week, Emre is still a good player, but we'll be a different proposition at home.

Can't recall the last time we won comfortably at theTurf against anyone. Expecting another tight game next week with perhaps just one goal in it.

We should win easily . They are league 1 level. As long as we don't start Hendrick behind striker we should hammer them

how many players in tonights team had their first game in months? tonight's team, formation and players positions were totally alien to what we would normally do. I think you will see a completely different side and formation next Thursday.

Careful they will be dangerous on the break and we will need to bang in two ASAP in the game. Pleased with the draw but would have preferred 1-1

I think we would need all of our squad fit and available in order for it to be a 'completely different team'. Don't think that will be the case.

Not for next week. We don't get to change the squad (goalkeeper emergencies excepted) until the next round.

I tried to ring the club today to cancel the ones i bought in the JH lower, so i can get some in the CF. They wouldn't allow it for cup games.

Judging from last night’s game we will do well to beat Istanbul. They were much better than us. Depleted team I know, but that might also be the case next week.

I thought both teams were terrible to be honest. We had a weakened side playing in humidity we struggled in.

If we can't beat them at home with a full side we will get relegated.

Certainly time for a reality check. It's not going to be a case of 'finishing the job off at home'. From what I saw they were very good technically and very patient. Do they travel well? I hope not because that might just be significant to the outcome.

Where they really that much better? Can’t recall Hart having many saves to make.

That's a very sweeping statement and terrible isn't a word I'd use to describe their performance. But, we all see things differently.

Seems a bit harsh to be relegated for failing to win an early European game. What are we supposed to do for the rest of the season?

Not getting an away goal last night is the only possible negative but given the stage of the season we are at, the pressure of our opening PL game on Sunday, the lack of knowledge of the opponents, comparing ourselves to teams like Zenit losing 4-0 in the first leg last night, then we really shouldn't be reading anything into last nights game other than the fact we are still in the tie and it's game on next week

It is a sweeping statement but we didn’t create anything against a poor side. Aberdeen were s far better side.

I'm just hoping it was the heat.

The result was good enough though.

I must have watched a different game to some of you.I thought the Turks were a very good side.passed the ball around well and had some pacy players.Their finishing was poor but another day who knows..
Burnley were organised at the back as usual but too many key players missing .

Weird how different people see different things.

I thought the Turks were a class above Aberdeen. Their movement and passing tore us apart at times, and it was due to our excellent last ditch defending that we escaped with a draw.

Hope we play a stronger XI next week and get past them.

Aberdeen created far better chances and looked far more dangerous against our strongest line up.

We just sat back last night due to the heat.

The teams that failed to beat them at home in Europe last season were Seville, Bruges, and Ludogorets Razgrad. None of them got relegated.

They were missing a few players as well to be fair last night so they might normally be a lot stronger.

As another thread suggests, Burnley were happy to give them the ball such was the confidence they couldn’t break us down.

Aberdeen were better than Istanbul? What game were you watching? Istanbul looked a very established side who struggled to retain any kind of possession against due to their high tempo press. When they were in possession they were composed and technically a cut above our side.

They lacked cutting edge which was their obvious weakness and the reason that I’d give us a chance at home on Thursday. They were miles better than Aberdeen though and certainly wouldn’t have looked out of place in the Premier League.

All i can remember is corner after corner for them, with all shots way off target or defended well by us

Aberdeen were direct and looked dangerous. They might not just pass it round for fun but scored in both legs and should of added more.

They wouldn't of scored if we were still playing. Toothless as any side I've seen.

Depends what you like in a side I suppose.

I'd imagine the team we field on Sunday will be the cheapest prem side in the leauge (at purchase price?) and it's easy to forget even after last seasons heroics we are a side pretty much devoid of "high class" players (especially with Defour injured) and very much rely on strong tactics and great defence. We're never gonna play anyone off the pitch with our style. Anyone thinking we could go to Istanbul and "outplay" this lot must be either suffering some kind of delusional episode or be high on drugs.

Aberdeen didn’t create anything of note. They had a few corners where they looked a bit of a threat and ended up scoring from one of them. The first leg goal was a penalty that never should have been. Their goalkeeper was the best player on the pitch in the second leg such was the number of excellent saves he made.

I agree that Istanbul were toothless but we couldn’t get the ball off them - they were far better than Aberdeen.

The option to buy tickets for this game has disappeared completely off the site now - is this likely just to be temporary delays or do I need to phone up and go through the massively helpful ticketline staff to see what is available?

Edit: Ignore me - it's back
