Best PVR/DVR

I’m getting rid of Sky when my subscription is up in September and wanted something to replace it with (subscription free of course!).Years ago I had a digital recorder that was utter dog turd compared to Sky+. Is this still the case or can you buy a decent free view recorder?

I have had a Humax for a few years and it has always worked well. No doubt there is an updated version by now - perhaps read the Which magazine for an update on the best buys.

The old Humax PVRs are probably better than the new ones as long as you don't mind not having smart TV.

HDR FOX T2.

You can mod them too do all kinds of stuff, remove adverts, upgrade HDD etc.
