Speaking of "nice" Canadians, has anybody seen this old TV series? Nobody on this programme is "nice". But I've known Canadians of their type compared to those inhabit places like Banff on about a 10-1 ratio. My favourite character was Julian, the guy who always had a rye and coke in his left hand (never his right). Brilliant parody.

Lunacy at its finest. I still watch it now. Jim Lahey was a great character. R.I.P. John Dunsworth.

To you it was just TV. To me, it was real life. I worked for my dad in a lumber yard. It was inhabited by real 'Trailer Park Boys'.

And it was Julian' s right, not his left. But it was always the same hand. If you want to see something in a similar vein, check out 'Letterkenny'. It might even be funnier.

TPB is a great watch. Love bubbles, and his alter ego the green *******.
Lahey was superb too. John dunsworth played a phenomenal drunk.

Spent some time in Canada, and I’ve met the kind you speak of Ontario, especially in Banff and Canmore.
Great days.

Actually, ugly Americans are even uglier than ugly Canadians. Just don't tell it to their face. They'll all be Trump-lovers.

One of my favourites. An ex-girlfriend had her cats named after Corey and Trevor. Somehow we managed to get away without her realising what she'd (we'd) done. Being a nurse, she liked the name Corey, as she thought the cat was named after Corey Aquino, the pi president at the time. Corey didn't last that long after that (either the cat or the politician), but Trevor is still about, now in old age.

Funny show that “Trailer Park Boys”. Another funny Canadian show was “Corner Gas”. If memory serves, both series were shot in Saskatchewan.

TPB shot in Nova Scotia. "Corner Gas" has a new cartoon series. Brett Butt tried another comedy series, but it didn't take off like CG. CG might be the most boring TV series ever, just like Saskatchewan.

'Letterkenny', the hot new show, represents small-town southern Ontario. It's very authentic. Again, I know lots and lots of people just like them. Reminds me of the old Brooklin I grew up in. "Fore check. Back check. Pay cheque."

Bubbles is brilliant. It's weird actually seeing the guy out of character.

exile, when you drive to places like Mitchell, Listowel, and Lucknow, you must think that you're in Letterkenny.

Personally i find 'Corner Gas' quite amusing. Haven't seen the cartoon version, no interest in cartoons, other than "The Simpsons".

Play at Mitchell on occasion, too. A former so-worker commuted from Mitchell to Waterloo daily, nice drive in summer, in winter..........no so much

I just find the humour in CG a little "cornier" (for lack of a better word) and direct than TPB. There are no jokes in TPB, other than the characters themselves and their ridiculous situations. CG plows a more PC approach, right from the indigenous Canadian police chief, to the majority WASP population. And you can see the jokes coming from a mile away. Of course, nothing on Canadian TV compares with the comedy of shows like the Simpsons or Big Bang Theory. It's like comparing the Prem to lower league football. But I still enjoy most of it. I know a guy, too, who lives in Listowel. He's American, and came up here after getting a job at RBC. Really nice guy.

Golf courses in your area all have one thing in common. Flat as a pancake.

Well, that’s a bit of a blanket statement! Sure some courses are flattish, some with rolling hills, some downright hilly.
Now, back to regular programming…………………….I like ‘Corner Gas’
because of the corny humour and stereotypical casting

I wasn't criticizing you, only making a statement. Sometimes you just assume people are after you. There's a lot of it on this site. Now IT will be after me again. Different strokes for different folks. I'm just used to courses on the Great Pine Ridge in my backyard. Your part of Ontario is not completely flat. It has the Grand River going through it. For real flatness, nothing beats that stretch between Chatham and Windsor. A lot of people nod off while driving that part of the 401.

You never saw 'The Trouble With Tracy', the first Canadian-made so-called comedy. It was beyond dreadful.

Discovered TPB not long ago and just binged watched loads of it...brilliant stuff, the characters are immense.
I was gutted to finish it all with no prospect of any more being made.
Didn't know John Dunsworth had died, he was perhaps the best ever "drunk" actor....RIP.
Do we all have a mate like Ricky?....I know I do haha.

They had a TPB movie, too. It didn't do too well.
