Making sure they sell more tickets....good move but not for fans who live a long way off

Great - thanks.

Working in London that day and no chance of being able to make the game.

Will look forward to updates from Longsidebovril. (No, seriously, I enjoyed the updates s/he posted on the Soton game).

Be interesting if there's no streams at all then. Be surprised it can't be viewed by Turkish fans.

Goddy there is always a thread on match days on here...Madge would have it no other way...besides Spadesclaret would raise the roof if there wasn't regular updates .lol

Sport 1 israel is shown as showing it. Club say no tho

Ticket ploy?

Or simply down to no interest from
Broadcasters. Realistically, how big an audience would they get? BT probably saw how many watched our last home leg and didn’t see it as financially viable for them. Last season Everton struggled with getting broadcasters to pick up their games and they have a much bigger fan base than us.

Bet most of our first team will be gutted as they'll now have to actually go down to the ground if they want to watch the reserves play on Thursday

I'll be following the match day thread as per usual. Difficult to get to games living a fair distance from the Turf. As ever I shall, though, be fully behind Madge (ooo-er) and look forward to the usual reprobates chipping in. I appreciate the reminder, though.

Wonderful for all us based overseas ;) To think we were mocking how Aberdeen chose to stream their home leg.

What exactly was the point of trialing showing live games via Clarets Player against Preston exactly?

We were listed on livesoccer as being on bet365 but it’s been removed.
Looks like they are keeping it in house for delayed transmission on claretsplayer.

Another joke by the club.

I’ve travelled 5000 miles in the last few days and won’t be able to watch from my home where I’m being rested....

Well, I think the problems with that trial is why they're not streaming it.

Not sure why this is could be considered a joke by the club. We've worked hard to get it televised (and if we'd been successful it would have brought money into the club). It's not the club's fault that none of the broadcasters are interested in taking it.

So why can't Clarets Player show it?

Sky are showing Sunderland v Wednesday on Thursday and any football fan will be watching that game, therefore it’s not worth BT’s while competing with sky for football by televising us as they won’t get enough viewers. If BT did offer to televise the game they probably didn’t offer much.

Because it can't be relied on to stream live video.

I dont know the answer to this but I guess it depends on whether Cameras will be there with an in game production team filming because someone has a duty to film the match and provide footage of the goal / highlights.

If not and no cameras are there or or its being filmed but without any in match direction then there would be the production costs that without a broadcaster Burnley would have to pay for and would probably have to organise and outsource as im guessing we dont have an internal team capable of this

You might not be sure. I think it is and it is my opinion so you don’t need to be sure

Why should we expect it to be shown on clarets player? If we were getting live streaming of all home games the subscription would be considerably more than £6/month. Anyway the idea is you are encouraged to get yourself along to the actual match!

Why don't they do a Facebook live?

Connect a decent phone to the WiFi and I'm pretty sure whilst it may be something basic, it would offer something for those fans who cannot make it?

It will be a shame if we were to win and the Highlights were only of the standard of our non-TV games in the Championship.

Bet365 seem to think they're showing it? With Israel TV having it too, a stream could pop up.

It could be in retaliation for the Turks not agreeing to stream the first leg to Burnley.

Unfortunately cutsy has been banned I believe, some say it's down to the promotion of a streaming set up?.

It's a shame as they was always helpful when people were asking for links for games they couldn't attend in person.

They are down near the old Park View pub. They've set up a pitch with seats for around 20,000 people, looks a right good set up it does but you do have to pay unless you know Claret Tony (he'll stick you on the guest list)

If this was just a matter of TV then I would completely understand. Burnley are not an attractive broadcast proposition. But this is the year 2018 and there are alternatives to TV. Aberdeen, a club operating on 10% of our revenue, were able to offer a really nice professional streaming package that was worth the 12.99 I paid for it. I think it's an absolute joke that we can't stream it live. Sends a message to the overseas fans that despite 3 seasons in the Premier League we still have that insular small club mentality.

Exactly. What exactly is Darren Bentley's job description as a media manager if he can't even "manage" to put this on Clarets Player?

I'm not one for defending the club but you can't just put it on clarets player. You need a director and production team to switch between different cameras. I guess we could just have the long shot camera from the back of the long side which covers the whole pitch but it wouldn't be great

I guess all this means is that no English TV broadcasters have picked it up, should still be broadcast in other countries? if that's the case there will be a foreign stream.
