Which option do you choose?
A - Win tonight and lose on Sunday.
B - Lose tonight and win on Sunday.
How big a priority is the Premier League to you?

We get another shot at the Premier League next week. If forced to choose, I’d take A, just to extend the European Campaign a little further.

Being extremely selfish- I’ll take option A.
I stupidly turned down a trip to Turkey so I’m desperate to go to Athens next week.

If only it were possible to win both.

In fairness to KRBFC, that’s not the question. He was asking a simple either or.

Hypothetical scenario, I don't know why you have to be arsey, if you don't like it, you aren't forced to respond.

I'd have to go for A
I'd absolutely love us to be in the group stages - even if we then did poorly, but had a decent league season

I'd say "A", and then change my mind tomorrow.

Option A all the way. Desperate to go to Athens and see the Clarets away in mainland Europe.

We're not quite mathematically down if we lose on Sunday.. so I'll go 'A'.
I know Sean and especially the bean counters at the club won't agree, but as a fan, that's my preference.

I hope we go full strength tonight even if it means resting players on Sunday, I know we'll likely rest tonight though which I won't be happy about if we lose.

A all day long , I think we can win both though , what a great platform that would be with the squad only getting stronger ,either way in Dyche we trust

Win on Sunday for me.
I'll get my WWI Prussian helmet and hide in the bunker.
The money from yet another season in the Premier League will allow us to build for other forays into Europe.
Obviously, the question is hypothetical, and I expect a win in BOTH

Definitely A not seen this in my life time and possibly never again so its a no brainer
If it was the last game of the season and we needed the points to stay up then that be different.

If we lose on Sunday, some on this forum will go into meltdown with the usual predictions of relegation. Anyway, I am going for 2 wins despite the OP's question.

Unfortunately a win on Sunday won't guarantee survival and I can't see us ever qualifying for Europe while only 7 teams from England get there.
Enjoy it while we can.

It is good to know though that if we win tonight and lose on Sunday you won't be ranting on here within 2 minutes of full time.
For me slightly prefer B, only because after Aberdeen and Turkey it is starting to get expensive every other week with a 2-3 day holiday somewhere if we have to pick just 1 option.
If we are guaranteed after winning that we beat the Greeks we then get a group with trips to Italy, Belgium, France, Spain or Germany then option A.

Got to be A.
Missed out on Istanbul so going Athens if we get through.
We are in Europe but not spent a euro yet...

To be fair to LoveCurryPies I think he is entitled to his opinion, as you are entitled to ignore his response!
For me I really really want us to get through to the next play-off round so I'm going for option a. with one proviso:
we lose on Sunday 3-2 to a disputed late off-side goal having played Watford off the park.

I understand the question and if pushed, I'd probably go with win tonight.
But - I think the question is a bit misleading and indicative of a mentality that I don't really agree with. Tonight is the next game, so we want to win that. There's no real need to couple of the games together and there's no reason why playing well tonight and winning should harm our chances of winning on Sunday,

Far too logical there Spice!
You have totally ignored the laws of... "Average", "Momentum", "Murphy" and "Quotas", not to mention "Conspiracy Theory", "Quantum Physics" and the "Square Root of the Angle of the Dangle"

I would have to go with a win tonight having spent hours booking flights and a hotel for next Thursday
But I can't see Watford beating us so it could be a good seven days.

B for me. A loss tonight could lead to a loss on Sunday. Then we are in the poor start situation, which is never good but not fatal.
A win tonight would bring a win on Sunday for me.

I very much doubt it, I think he's trying to start yet another league or Europe debate. The answer to the question is, I believe irrelevant.

Pardon? So by your logic it would be best if we win tonight if it brings a win on Sunday. So why did you choose B. Just asking.

B for me.
One point from 2 games against Southampton and Watford would be a sticky start....from the equivalent games we got 6 points last year.
Fortunately for all of us its not worth falling out about as its not a real life choice we have to make as a club.

Because it was an either/or question. B was my answer but then I gave my feelings on the two games.

He has indicated which he would prefer and why should a fun hypothetical question that has sparked some good friendly responses impact someone's opinion of a game and right to express it even if its critical
I'm desperate to go full strength tonight and would much rather win tonight than Sunday but if we are absolutely hopeless on Sunday and Dyche was to make some strange decisions that I perceived as bad then I will still say it how I see it.
By the same token if Dyche throws the kitchen sink at it tonight and we lose I will still give credit for going for it and if we narrowly lose on Sunday due to possibly over committing to tonight then I will consider that fact when forming my opinion.
Its so difficult sometimes on this board to have a good open discussion about anything Burnley FC related as so many posters are just too precious

It's a tricky one, as getting your first win on the board in the prem is important, and 4 pts from our first 2 games would be great. But then, I'd be gutted if we went out tonight against a team we're entirely capable of winning against. On balance though, I'd still say B even though I hate myself for thinking like that. Every point counts, it's so easy to go on a bad run of form without picking up many points. B

Can't see how this is a debate. We get 36 more games in the PL whilst this may be our last in Europe. Losing to Watford at home won't define our season. Beating Istanbul keeps the dream alive.
