Hands up who two months ago were saying he was past it and saying pope was miles better , i for one admit it . I am not saying he should be back in the England squad long term as i think we have got to look at the future but i dont think his move to us will do him any harm and it would not surprise me if he gets called up for the next squad. Just spoke to my dad who was at the game and he would have had Hart as MOM . How things can change in a short space of time

Some of the comments about him on here were just ludicrous

Out of interest, why are you doing this? Are you just bored? It's an interesting form of entertainment for sure and it doesn't bother me, just intrigued by your reasoning behind it.

Had a couple of bad seasons, but now getting his confidence back. No coincidence that's happening now he's playing with SD as his manager.
Good keeper.

Initially an immature joke that became more funny the more angry people got. That’s me for tonight though

Joe hart was never a bad keeper. Treated extremely poorly by Guardiola, who turned him from a £30-40m keeper into a £5m keeper without even watching him.
At the euros from all the training streaming I watched (most of it) he was clearly the third best keeper in the squad... and recently he has been behind Heaton, pope, butland and Pickford - and rightfully so.
But he now has a manager who can manage people. And he has a goalkeeping coach who makes England keepers out of league one keepers so don’t be surprised if joe hart ends up back in the England set up.
Hart has been poor recently, that’s a cast iron fact. But right now he’s playing with belief in his own ability, and we will reap the benefits of that, because he’s actually very good.
Played great tonite.

Given what Hart did at City, Guardiola treated him pretty well.
But, it's what he does at t'Turf now and he's doing pretty well thank you.

Agree with Bobinho thought Pep treated him poorly as from memory Hart was still a class keeper at the time and was streets ahead of Bravo

If he can get Joe back into the England frame, Billy Mercer should have the James Hargreaves stand named after him. Unbelievable the work he continues to do!!

Our defense will have a big part to play getting his career back on track. It is good to finally have a keeper with good distribution though.

Had a fantastic game tonight. In my opinion he was our MoM. Without his saves, we’d have conceded a few.

Tonight Joe Hart was my MOM. An excellent signing. Can he play in midfield an area in which we are sadly lacking.

Playing behind our back four is light years ahead of playing for West Ham's, 4 million is a steal for a keeper with 75 England caps and in his prime!

Guardiola wanted City to build from the back and Joe Hart couldn't do that so it's no surprise that Guardiola wanted to replace him. We saw a couple of instances last night where Hart's short distribution was quite dodgy. His long kicking however was spot on every time. Hart couldn't adapt to Pep's way of playing, that is the top and bottom of it.

Given what he did? You mean win titles and be pretty successful? I don't think he was treated well, especially not when it was Bravo playing.

Very strange that Pep dropped him for his kicking, yet he kicks the ball far better than Heats or Pope.

More to do with type of distribution in terms of what Guardiola looks for in a keeper.

Pep likes sweeper-keepers, which Hart isn't.

Joe is a great signing and a bargain. Brilliant last night and his kicking is top drawer

His distribution is also miles better than any keeper we've had.
Pope although a fantastic shot stopper, is woeful at kicking.
Looking like an absolute steal!

I might be being harsh here but is Billy Mercer a fantastic coach or have we actually just signed some bloody good goalkeepers?
He’s been at the club 10 years hasn’t he? In which case it’s only recently that we’ve seen quality keepers, or keepers become quality.
I’m not suggesting that he’s a poor coach, he could be the worlds best for all I know, I just don’t see how anyone can say that he’s this super keeper coach.
It could be Mercer, it could be the players that we’ve bought, it could be the defensive set up, it could be the morale within the squad etc. etc.

With heaton and pope I think that he has made good keepers, great keepers!
He hasn’t had enough time with Hart yet, I think that has more to with getting a permanent deal and getting away from city.

I think he gets the best out of keepers and it is only as we have grown that we have managed to sign a better calibre of keeper. It also has to be said that the way we defend and tend to restrict teams to longer range efforts or headers makes it easier for the keepers.

To be fair, you can only coach what's there. You can't do any more than allow them to reach their potential.

Hart played well, behind a confidence boosting defence.
What gave me the jitters was his punch instead of an easy catch and his mix up with Gibson. Not sure who cocked that up.
Decent saves, when needed.
