Jonathan Walters

Post by Paulclaret » Thu Aug 23, 2018 12:14 pm

Does anyone know what's happened to him? He played in Istanbul and was a sub at Southampton, but not been seen since and not in the squad in Athens. Now he's just tweeted 'I miss football'. :?:

I don't know if he's in Athens, but he's in the squad registered with UEFA.

He's not been on any photos or videos of the squad training. Apparently there are 21 players there and he's not one of them,

Perhaps he's having a dig at our style of play as in 'I miss proper football'? ;)

As soon as player posts cryptic tweets get shut... in fact, if a player has twitter, get shut.

Wasn't there a rumour that PNE were interested in a loan during transfer window? Could still happen.

We need to get rid - the bench last Thursday was a pretty big hint that there is no place for him at the club (and same with Wells).
Unless of course either of em are injured.

Even if we have to pay most of the wages then surely it’s better to let both go and get some game time. With Wells in particular if he managed to find any form then we might be able to recoup some of the £5m we paid.

That would be somewhat of a contradiction from somebody whose played the majority of his Career with Stoke and Eire. He's missed a hell of a lot football if that indeed is what he is implying..

After his performance in Istanbul I think that the ginger genius has had a word...

Something along the lines of ‘you need to improve’

Maybe it's just his frustration at being sidelined for so long due to injury and then struggling to get back in. Mind you, for someone who's largely been defended by virtue of being 'the right sort' to have around the dressing room an ambiguous tweet like this probably doesn't help anyone.

We missed football when he was on the pitch in Istanbul. Would have been more use to have one of those mannequins on the wing

Really? I saw him put in 1 awful cross and fall over nearly every time he had the ball, it was like he had roller blades on.

I'd play him tonight. Rest Ward and play Taylor at LB. I wish we could give Cork a rest but who could we put in there.

Two poor signings for (Walters and Wells) what's supposed to be the best league in the world (no idea who said that).if we are serious about progressing in the league then we have start paying more money for better quality. We cannot continue with this current type of football with an average team, especially the strike force.

And how could Dyche (or anyone) have predicted that he would have an awful injury shortly after joining us?
His previous injury / fitness record was excellent.
Stoke fans were sorry to see him go, and many still believe that had he remained there (and obviously not got injured), then they would not have been relegated.

It’s not even the injury. He’s crap and not good enough for us plain and simple. He was brought in as he’s a workhorse and Dyche likes workhorses.

Why is every signing that play on the fringes of the squad described as crap? They can't all play and that's what a squad's for!

Sir Alex Ferguson was a master at it and when he had a really bad run of injuries he could always rely on one of his crap fringe players to do a job.

We have been incredibly lucky with injuries over the last few seasons but if we do have to use one of these 'crap' players I hope our intelligent fans give them a chance!

Lucky with injuries? Are you serious? Barnes, Ings, Voke, Defour, Marney ( twice) Brady, Heaton, Pope, Walters. All picked up long term injuries in recent years. I’d say that’s anything but “lucky”

Looks like I’ve upset those who like twitter. Sorry.

It’s my fault because I didn’t add one of those winky smiley face things with its tongue sticking out at the end of my post. You didn’t realise I wasnt being serious.
