Burnley flag

Who ever’s picked up my Burnley flag tonight could you please return it? Either on Sunday before Fulham game (i’ll be travelling down on Accy Clarets) or before Olympiacos home game next week on Thursday.

It’s the Claret 6x4 with Burnley badge in the middle. I placed it on the plexi glass between fans tonight on the right hand side, went down to concourse to get a couple of waters and when I returned it had gone... Probably fell off, it wasn’t the most secure.

Cheers,
Cav

The flag that got me wad Burnley FC with Stoke on Trent in the largest of letters.

It really grated. Stoke has no link with Burnley and does not deserve to be emblazoned across a Burnley Flag!

The local steward took a picture. He'll probably look up Stoke on Trent, on Google! Burnley is not a small town in Stoke on Trent!

Yes, the flag is Dave Burnley's. Dave- it's not right. Think about it!

So how do you explain Colne Clarets, Yorkshire Clarets, and even London Clarets?

Does it matter where the people live who follow our club?

Blimey, you can only support Burnley FC if you were born within the sound of St Peter's Church bells?

Seeing as the pic isn’t showing, the flag is one with ‘MINDANDO CLARETS PHILIPPINES’.
A fair old distance to travel that!

Also, a Burnley FC flag with Stoke on Trent on it has been around for years. I remember seeing one hanging from a bridge over the M6 when we were going home from Wembley in 1994.

Probably the furthest distance from Burnley in our country (England)?

The Philippines is on the Southern Hemisphere which is why it looks upside down. The flag is the right way up, the Filipino wrestlers are upside down

They're not philopino wrestlers, there the Greek ultras who mugged our philopino fans and stole said flag! ποτέ δεν είναι ποτέ

It's away to show they've claimed "victory" and a way to undermine us. They take our flags/shirts off us, the hang them upside down in pictures to show their fellow ultras the "trophies from their hunt"...

Let’s not jump to conclusions. This could be Filipino wrestlers who are upside down due to living In the The Southern Hemisphere and they have put the flag the right way up as a mark of respect. Let’s not assume the worst every time

No Macca is spot on .
In Eastern Europe the thing Ultras love to do is steal flags then hang them upside down in their own end , can of like this is what we have done and we are better than your Ultras sort of thing .
Sad really some of the Ultras are really good others are just a bunch of thugs , Italy has some real **** bags to say the least .

Aye, any ultras with any class reserve this sort of thing to their counterparts. Unfortunately these feral shits just happily targeted anyone in claret

Yes, the flag is Dave Burnley's. Dave- it's not right. Think about it!

First saw someone in a 'City of Stoke's Clarets hat in the late 80s going on the Turf.
Around the same time I had my first ' Buxton Clarets' shirt... ;)

Are those goons in the gimp masks Burnley fans or are they Geeks holding the flag to ransom as the "spoils of war" and trying to look hard? (Which even my mum could do in a half and half bondage mask tbh) Legitimate question.

The problem with the upside down flags is if the other side dont care its a bit pointless, and the mask wearing.,jesus they just look like kids.

Ha! I knew it might cause stir!

However, you have highlighted what I am trying to point out. That is the difference between supporters club flags, which say 'X' Clarets and this particularly flag, which had Burnley FC in small letters and in very large letters, STOKE ON TRENT.

Whilst all the others demonstrate an allegiance of several/Lots of supporters from one area, to Burnley, the fl+g in question suggests that Burnley FC is in STOKE ON TRENT.

That is the issue. Wrong message.

Stoke Clarets would seem better tbh. Is there another Stoke which necessitates the "on-trent"? Its hardly like the two Newcastles is it?

That shirt belonged to my mate who I was in Athens with. he's a genuine football fan who has never had a fight since junior school

These cowards simply picked on us as they heavily outnumbered us as we got off the Metro at the ground

Yes it was probably our own fault for going against the advice from the Burnley police getting the metro

The Burnley police were very helpful to us after the assaults and robbery of the BFC shirt and another's cash and phone

Never experienced that sort of hatred from football fans and made a Blackburn/Burnley game look like a friendly

Having said that, in Athens the night before the game and before on match day the atmosphere was very friendly with us having a good time with the locals
