Haven't seen anything on this, but Mee doesn't look right this season. I think Gibson needs a run in the side.

Been a few comments on other threads more so before he 're signed I think fans were thinking the uncertainty was affecting him but now it's a strange one

Combination of factors - one that I think is pertinent is the fact that he earnt the right to play in Europe then doesn’t get picked when we do. Same will apply to others in the squad. I know we need to have a bigger squad and rotate team selection, but only if we actually get to the group stages and then have to take it more seriously. In reality, had we played a consistent team where possible we may have more points in the league and may not be 2 down in the Europa play off, but then we’d have late season fatigue to consider, but that’s where strength in depth needs to come in - not at the start of the season. All ifs buts and maybes, and hindsight is always wonderful...

His mistake lead to the corner that the goal came from. I agree he is making a lot of errors for the standard we are use too from him.

The reason you haven’t seen anything on this is that most people watch with their eyes open.
Did you see Gibson in Greece? When was the last time Ben did something like that?

Agree with Ben not at his best but what message does it send out if you drop your captain after 2 average games? He was solid at Saints.

The guy Tarka was marking scored 2 yesterday, not sure dropping Ben will help much

Mee has always had an error in him. And if your pointing out Gibson's error in Greece, I raise you Mee's backpass to Hart which he only just got too.

Tarks was clearly pushed in the back by Mitrovic before the first. 50/50 call but enough to put him off. For the second he had found himself over at RB and it was Ward who was marking Mitrovic.

True - but he was given the run around for parts of the game, got drawn into stupid scuffles and got himself booked.
Dropping Mee isn't going to help

I defended Ben further up the thread and agree Tarks wasn't at his best but was defending him for the goals.

There was nobody closing down in the full back areas, after half time Mitrovic had a header at goal inbetween both centre halves, crossed from our left back area, with nobody within 10 yards of the person who crossed. For the 2nd goal, yet again we get caught cold at corners, we have all these men back but nobody defending outside of the penalty areas, it's always been this way. Defensively we were appalling, a complete lack of concentration and effort.

We are being caught out by going behind. Last year we battled and battled for the clean sheet and then pinched some wins. Once we are behind and chasing the game we are exposed for lack of pace. This is fixable.

Missing Arfield down the left side. Not the most gifted player we ever had but he certainly afforded great cover for Ward and Mee. Without him.they look lost. They have tried Taylor in that role but it hasn't worked. Brady may shore it up when he returns.

He also headed the corner, which fell to Tarkowski to score.

Is really not as good as people like to think he is.

Gibson will be pushing him on the training ground for that PL starting shirt, Mee is possibly trying too hard to keep his place causing him to struggle and Ward is also struggling as he is possibly missing defensive help from midfield imo. It can all be sorted with a bit of Dyche grit and determination.

Perhaps his poor peformances are due to him having deep pockets sown into his shorts.

Ben, like most of the team is behind where they were last season
Only Jeff Hendrick has pushed on and improved. Westwood has held his own, everyone else has gone backwards.
There isn't just one reason, it's a combination of various factors of which we are well aware.
Putting it right whilst competing in The EL, will be difficult, but what's the point of playing the game to make life easy. They need to pull together even more, and we need to back them even more. Getting on any players back will only make matters worse.
I've always found it strange that when a player is on form he gets massive support, even though he doesn't need it, but when he's on a bad run and needs the fans backing, the support is withdrawn. Very odd.

The style we play allows too much pressure on our defensive unit, always has. We have got away with It because of our defensive unit have been so well drilled and keepers have been excellent. Think Dyche knows we need to change it up and we saw glimpses of that at Southampton but our injuries to key midfielders are making us struggle to adapt. But no.... Ben Mee is definitely the problem with our recent performances. Should have sold him in the window

Maybe he's sulking because a 'big club didn't come in for him.

Ward looks like he's struggling far more than Mee imo and suddenly the writing looks to be on the wall as far as he's concerned, but not sure why the sudden change in one of our most consistent players.

Ward is great. Funny that he is the one playing more or less all the games....Mitrovic got away from the people who should have been marking him for their 3rd goal leaving Ward exposed

I wasn't ONLY referring to Sunday as he's not filling me with confidence at all this season, but I honestly felt for the third goal he was somewhat naive as he tracked Mitrovic without ever being able to prevent him getting to the ball, but could so easily have simply stepped up and let him run offside before the ball was crossed.

Ward is great. If he’s not filling you with confidence then I suggest you consider what level of left back would be better for us given he’s an international footballer that is the best left back at Burnley. Dyche clearly thinks this given how often he is playing.

Tbf he has looked a little " leggy" the last couple of games.

Looking leggy and not filling u with confidence are a bit different. If he looks leggy we need to remember that the rest of the back 4 are being rested and largely playing 1 game a week. Ward has played more minutes with all the traveling etc.
The main issues we have are as a team and less continuity of team selection, less time to prepare and more travel time etc. Wardy looks most affected because he is almost always in the team

I honestly agree with you, Ward IS great and has been so important and consistent for absolutely ages, BUT I genuinely don't feel in the few games we've had so far this season that he's quite up to his usual standard and tbf I don't think I'm alone in feeling that way.

Ward looked poor towards the end of last season and it seems that form has continued sadly.
