Poor again. Can't think of any reason they won't be relegated this season

Can’t bat been a problem for a while. Least they signed another bowler though last week!

It's like watching England, the bowlers do the hard work, the batting collapses, could well win the T20 and be relegated.

Why don't Lancashire find a role for Athers, need someone to teach this lot how to build an innings, young Hameed failing again, can't see him on the winter tour.

Can’t see him playing next season never mind a winter tour for England! Hameed’s figures are shocking. In 15 knocks he’s scored 151 runs at an average of just over 10. Admittedly he recently scored 180 for Lancashire 2nds, but that is appalling. Slightly better last year with 500 runs at 28 but something somewhere is going seriously wrong. It’s a real shame because he looked good in India in those tests that he played before getting injured.

I wouldn't have fancied batting on that track - it looks like a park pitch that had been cut for the first time this morning.

No excuses though. Lancs have been rubbish though all season in the Championship and deserve all they get.

The batting issues aren't new even when Lancashire won the title in 2011,this was mainly due to bowling sides out cheaply, and last season Chanderpaul's form papered over the cracks, the only bright note is Alex Davies and Tom Bailey, amazing Bailey is the leading wicket-taker in Division 1 and yet Lancashire are propping up the table.

There were times when 15 wickets in a day meant the pitch inspectors were on the way.
It’s seen as a solid day for Lancs now.

Bailey's struck again twice early in Worcs second dig, they still lead by nearly a hundred though, the lad must wonder why he bothers, just noticed there were 2 run-outs in Lancashire's first innings, amateurish in the extreme, and sums up the season.

I am at the match right now. Bailey and Onions bowling very well but Lancs won't want to be chasing much more than 200. Nothing wrong with the track by the way. Seaming a bit but bounce is consistent. Won't see the close as we will be setting off for the Turf before that.

Won't want to chase more than 200 ? How many innings are you giving them to get 200, 120 is probably enough

Well surely someone will be able to hold things together enough to get 200! As I said, the track is decent. Worcestershire now 160 ahead with 6 wickets in hand so looking like a longer chase anyway. Maharaj on but looking innocuous so far.

Worcs 180 ahead and still 5 wickets in hand, can't see Lancs winning from here.

Worcs nearing a lead of 300 tough ask for Lancs in the fourth innings, but if you keep collapsing in your 1st innings that what happens.

Lancs 95-4 including yet another run out. Hameed made only 14,only 219 left to win, yeah! right.

Feel pleased for young Josh Bohannon playing in only his second Championship game and being part of a winning stand. He has now scored two half centuries in his four innings.
Good win and gives just that little bit of hope.

Great win chasing that total in the fourth innings.

Meanwhile over the border Yorkies still need 411 and are 8/2 in their 2nd innings.

A happy surprise to see this outcome today. I was really in a pessimistic cricket mood at the end of Thursday- having been down Ageas Bowl to watch England's batting yesterday and then seeing that Lancs needed such a big 4th innings score today (and looked doomed to stay at the foot of the table).
Good recovery by England today and a fantastic comeback by Lancs. Getting 317 to win in the 4th innings is a terrific performance, congratulations to century maker Vilas and to J.J. Bohannon making 78 NO from number8.
It's still going to be tough to escape relegation with away games to come at Somerset, Yorks & Hants but the last two of these opponents are also down the bottom end of the table so still hope. The roses clash at Headingly starting 10th Sept should be a cracker.

Finally Lancs show some bottle to grab a terrific victory, gives them a chance of survival, but all the other sides below them have a game in hand, incredibly tight even Notts in 3rd could be dragged into a relegation battle, huge roses clash now.
