CFS today... absent when required..

Well where were you today?
Invisible and totally intimidated by our Manc opponent’s.
We needed you today and it never happened..
First heard by me in the 63 rd minute.
Sort of understand this stuff but stop telling us what great fans you are, and that the rest of us should make more noise.... really tired of that.

Here we go again, the result is not looking to positive, so lets blame the fans.
Well done hampstead you have managed to get this post in even before the game as finished.

shut up you idiot.
I am sat here watching it.. are you?
What I say is true.
Not blaming the score/ performance on the fans.
A pathetic predictable response by you, who is certainly not in that stand.
** I have been on this forum ( and the previous one for about ten years).. about the time Coyle was doing it, and we were heading for Wembley.
Anyone, I mean anyone, find me a post of mine in that time, where I criticise the..
chairman directors board.
the manager
any players
the fans.
You won’t find one.
I don’t do it.
Today I called it as I saw it... a few predictable less than inspiring responses.
It wasn’t a go at the fans and it wasn’t me saying that the fans were responsible for the defeat (?!)
It is clear what I said... just got tired of some of the gobbiness of the uber fans ( from that stand) who post on here... you went missing today.. geddit?

There was nothing to shout about! I'm usually in the 'happy clappers' club, but we look void of any creativity whatsoever. Couldn't score and brothel spring to mind.

Sometimes you just need a little something to shout about.
The first half was like watching paint dry.

A shot?
A goal?
A sign of at least some intent to string half a dozen passes together offensively.
If the atmosphere was flat, it wasn't half as flat as the first half display.

United are a class team they came out with intent was time to create an atmosphere

A class team?
They shipped 3 goals in their previous 2 games, we didn't even look like creating a chance first half.

Same every year against Manchester United.
We have been mute in the fixture for a number of years, the loudest the Cricketfield stand got first half was finishing United’s we all hate Leeds song off.

Should have got a song going rather than logging in to complain - the fans on today weren’t on here during the game awaiting your requests to get singing

I am over in the Jimmy Mac and they didn't do too bad. Heard them a few times, but to be totally fair they didn't have much to shout about. It was pretty depressing watching.
Was funny when they were taking the mickey out of UTD fans when Hart saved the penalty.

5... I sit in the James Hargreaves Upper and you should ask those sat around me if ‘I join in’ or not. I’ve been ‘joining in’ for about 50 years and don’t need any lectures from you about how to be a Burnley supporter.

19... do you find it difficult to watch a match while having your mobile phone ‘live’ ?
Trust me it’s straightforward.
I was unhappy about our support today from that section of our fans in that stand ( the so called ‘singing section’).. I admire their efforts normally, ( I have family members in there) ...today they went AWOL.. intimidated into near silence by MUFC supporters.... they should beat their own drum on here in future a little more modestly.

OK, my head is still ringing from the CFS today, there were moments early second half when it was understandably a little quiet, but apart from that I really must defend my fellow fans in there today.

A sensitive little soul arn't you. Anyway it was actually nothing personal. It just seems recently after every uninspiring result, theres a post about the atmosphere/fans by some posters on here. If the football is uninspiring, recent results and the score line isn't exactly going the way of the home side, then home fans in football stadiums up and down the country tend to be quiet. This isn't something unique to the clarets.
Also I can't find the post from a fan in the Cricket Field where they claim to be a better fan than those in other parts of the ground. Maybe you can point one out to me?

It was like a pre season friendly out there today. Burnley rolled over and had their tummy tickled, like we have done for the last 3 years against United. Is Dyche after a job on Mouriniho's staff?
Thank **** for International break.

You would think he would know that Dyche waits until 60 minutes before he tries to win a game.
He would be better off missing the first hour and coming in late.

It is the task of the fans, to lift the team, when they are below par, not wait to be 'lifted' by the below par team.
Once lifted, by all means, go to town, however, give the team that support, to have a cha ce of lifting themselves.
It's easy to sing when we are winning!

Must admit CFS did raise a smile when they sang “just a Man City reject” back at the Utd fans , apart from that they were pretty poor. It’s not just them though it’s the ground in general no one seems to be lifting the team, after the pen save and sending off we should have raised the roof but the CFS just churned our SDC and blue army
Bit like replying with small arms fire to tank.Tbf though they were good vs the Greeks and generally are decent .They just tend to be a precious lot who feel they are beyond criticism and are the standard bearers of the club

SD’s team selection set the mood, noteably aware of the mood dropping in the pub I was in when the team news was shared around.
It’s a 2 way thing, set an attacking team Thursday 2 up top and said he wanted to use it as a springboard then picked a defensive team 1 man up yesterday.
It’s a give and take thing he and the team got a well deserved rapturous round of applause at the end Thursday, yesterday they got polite applause for the bigger picture.
Poor team selection and poor substitutions in terms of timing
More so though it was a negative team selection.

Yet you are lecturing the rest?
The atmosphere at the turf is abysmal full stop.
If it werent for the cricketfield we may as well give up.
Its not perfect, but its better than most and in the main it at least nulifies any backing from the away end! Think back to when we threw a 2 goal lead against Leeds. They practically chanted 3 goals in! Its nigh on impossible for away fans to have that effect now. Everton a few years ago was the same.
Maybe we need the full CFS. It wont happen any time soon though.

Man Utd fans brought with them a repertoire of their 20 best songs. Our best effort was a rendition of 'Come on Burnley' followed by our second favourite song, 'Come on Burnley'.

Man Utd fans always come with a good repertoire of chants that are easy to get involved in. I could understand pretty much all of them, which is unusual, normally don't have clue what the away fans are singing. I think they're good at it.
On the day their team was massively on top and we had bugger all to get excited about apart from the penalty and red card.
So overall not a cat in hell's chance CFS were outsinging them yesterday.

They were very good and a local game at 4 o clock giving them extra time for a few pints gave them everything you could wish for.
