Intolerable fans on match days

Has anybody had to change seats because they are sat near someone who ruins the match day experience ? Or do you just put up with it ? I like my seat but will have to move next season due to an idiot that moans from first to last slating players and the manager whilst clearly not knowing much about the game. It p*sses everyone off sat near him.

This is my fourth season sat with my mates in my current seat (JHU) and after the first couple we were seriously considering it. Thankfully the offending people directly behind us moved before we had to, presumably into the Cricketfield end. It was a bloke of about 60 and his two adult sons, who screamed until they were blue in the face for the full 90 minutes, often not making any sense at all and seemingly just for the sake of it. I know it's a football match and not a library but those three were borderline intolerable. We've had a few irritating people come and go since but nothing on that scale, and it's quite good where we are now to be honest.

I'm now totally immune to anything verbal.

One guy at the gangway end of row D in the CFS absolutely stinks of BO. It's all fine and dandy until "No, Nay, Never" or something similar and then the full gag-reflexing stench is released. Absolutely hideous.
Olympiakos, not too bad, I could shuffle a few seats along, Man United I was completely fooked. I wouldn't mind but it's a new, black, away shirt - too bad the lad hasn't thought to run it through the ******* washer since he bought it.
He reminds me of Paddy and Max with the "Dirty pig ! My eyes are burning !" sketch. ****.

I wouldn't let anyone ruin my match day. If you're not happy confronting, which is understandable, then move. If you are then have a quiet polite word. You'll then have 2 choices based on the reaction. If they react badly then I'd probably move because getting banned would be unthinkable.

If what he is saying is unacceptable or offensive report him to the club and he will probably get a warning and hopefully pipe down a bit.
If he’s just constantly moaning at the team and you don’t feel comfortable talking to him then I would try and move. Just be mindful that there is unfortunately more than one of these types of fans dotted round the ground.

A farmer used to sit next to me in the CFS
He used to leave at half time as there was no one else to milk his cows.

Unfortunately the nonsense comments around me come from family members, crazy to think they introduced me to football yet we hold such different views.
Apparently Arfield, Mee, Long, Jones are all sh!t

There was a loudmouth idiot sat behind us Longside lower, used to think he was hilarious with his constant abuse, poking people in front, flicking their ears, generally being a childish prat, and sneaking off to snort cocaine in the toilets as he constantly told his mate.
Luckily he thought some of his racist abuse of a couple of Chinese tourist type fans one game was funny, a group of us used this to complain to the club. After two warnings and single match bans, he has apparently been moved to the cricket field stand.

Theres a guy in the longside who constantly moans about the atmosphere, especially from the cfs. To top it off hes always getting his phone out and posting during the match about how bad it is.
Then rambles about how many taxis and trains he gets to the game.

After 6 minutes on Sunday there were moans and groans from behind me and that was just for Bardsley keeping possession. Think they wanted him to sprint 50 yards with the ball beating 6 men on his way to the dead ball line to cut it back to wood to score. Instead he simply passed it to Tarky ffs. It's going to be a long season.

I think I've been lucky this season and no longer have the two old blokes next to me. They used to fall out with each other over so many different decisions from throw ins to free kicks. I could deal with them most weeks but they really irritated me at the end of last season. Bournemouth game. Yeah it was a crappy match to watch but considering that we were guaranteed a 7th placed finish in the premier league I suppose it wasn't the end of the world. Anyway, these two blokes booed the team off once game finished and spouting about how they weren't fit to lace the boots of players of the 60's/70's. I mentioned the 7th place finish and they just shrugged it off and just said well maybe but that was crap. Honeslty, judging their reaction you would think we had just been relegated out of the football league. I'm glad I wasn't sat next to them for the Watford and United games...

In all seriousness I am considering moving further down the CFS as some of the guff spouted from some of our so called fans is unbearable.

I remember a pub stop for Stoke away and him getting chased by some angry lad cos’ he’d just wrapped a soggy pizza box off floor around his head about 3 times. Everyone calmed them down so he picked it up - hit him round head again and ran off

Not really intolerable, but slightly annoying.
I sit in the JMU and behind us is a woman that shouts and calls every player by their first name only. Go James, Yes Ben, good kick Joe and great sub Sean!
Also a guy in front of us that Shouts at Johann and calls him gohnan.
Although, once we get over being annoyed, we do take the **** and start shouting out Go Gohnan and good tackle James!

We are moving next season. We have complained to the club about the nasty racist pss head who sits near us. There are loads of very young kids sat around us and this Nast loudmouth sits there shouting his 1980's racist comments with a decent mix of you sh1t cnut, oh fcuk off, you fcuking wenker. Ask him to stop and you get nothing but abuse. I know its football and you do expect an amount of bad language but the shear velocity and ferocity from this Neanderthal is nothing short of disturbing.

I sit in JMU block 3 also, complained numerous times to the club about a group of about 6, response has been that I move to a different seat. Stewards came to speak to them on one occasion and all they did was abuse him.

Not quite the same horror stories as some of the posts on here but intolerable for a different reason.
When the Jimmy Mac first opened (as the East Stand) in 1996, I thought I’d bagged the best seats in the lower tier - P94 and P95 - right behind the goal about four rows in front of the executive boxes. But I was gutted to discover at the first match that the woman sat next to me was the size of ten houses. Half her massive backside spilt over onto my seat, forcing me to sit at a bizarre angle. By half time I was in absolute agony, so decided that I had to move. Next day I went back to the ticket office to change seats:
Me: I need to change seats in the East Stand
Bloke behind counter: Okay. Why’s that?
Me: Well, it’s a bit difficult, but the woman sat next to me is so big that I can’t physically sit in my seat.
Bloke: Which seats have you got?
Me: P94 and P95.
[Silence. Then bloke turns to his colleague]
Bloke: Dave, where does your mum sit?
Colleague: East Stand. P96, I think.
[Stunned silence. Then howls of laughter behind the counter].
Me: You b**tards!

To be fair to the club their response was decent enough, got an email back from them and they informed us they would put an employee in to the crowd in the area to monitor it.

And that's fair enough, as long as this monitoring, if it picks up this behaviour, translates into action.

We have Chubby Brown in the CFS, constantly berating Lennon.Proper moaning all the time and shouting some proper odd stuff out..But in the main all he does is slag the players off. Apparently it went pear-shaped the other week with his "mates" and another Burnley fan in front of us. Left a bad atmosphere, but at least it has shut him up for a while.Trouble is I know all involved and some of them should know better at their age
