Post by tiger76 » Fri Sep 14, 2018 10:32 pm

This is the first case ever to get this far, normally the clubs agree a compensation fee and the manager moves,https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/45518811

Watford sacked him so Everton didn’t need to pay compensation, they offered something like 10m for him.

Unless they did something particular bad I can't see it going anywhere. The whole of football would be under suspicion

He was probably Everton manager before he was sacked.

It’s the BBC site so no adds or paywalls

And it you still don’t want to read it, it relating to the approach they made whilst he was at Watford which “turned his head”

It won't get anywhere. The lawyers will mop up with a pay day and by 2019 Silva will probably have either been sacked or moved on to pastures new.

Nothing will happen. Everton are one of the big clubs. They will let it go.

Agree, ive read the article it's a strange situation & the timing is out of kilter, dispensing with a manager then a stop gap then Everton, could have a case though if it can be proved the approach & more importantly what happened afterwards led to a significant drop in league form as a result of this. Will be interesting to see the conclusion.

I bet Everton would be happy for Watford to take him back. He's simply a poor manager who's done nothing to prove his worth.

Would definitely be a step backwards for Watford if they rehired him, looking at tonight's league table

Why was this fella so sought after ? What has he achieved ? Won a cup in Portugal and the league in Greece, not a fantastic CV is it. Everton must have seen something, whilst not doing much at Hull or Watford, perhaps they though anyone but BFS will do !

The theory is if he'd been at Hull for a whole season they would've avoided relegation.

His team's do play some good football, but at Everton they're not really any better off then when they had Big Sam in charge.

Other than that, the only thing he had going for him in the eyes of some were the fact he's not Dyche and he's Portuguese.

Portuguese silver has always been sought by treasure hunters.

More often than not they end up spending a fortune, just so they can look upon a worthless old wreck.
