Suggestions this morning that Richard Scudamore's position at the top of the Premier League will be taken by a former Prime Minister.
Are they really serious?

He would be better leading the maths exam board. After all he is an expert on weapons of maths instruction.

Are they really serious? Of course not Tony because as we all know he is already fully imployed in the Funeral business in Iraq.

Woooah woooah - this could be good for us.
Blair brings back our Alistair as his main guy and all of a sudden we are not playing every f’in Sunday, we start getting a few penalties and Mourinho receives a lifetime ban from this country !!

Isn't our own chairman, Mr Garlick, part of the three man panel selected to recruit Scudamore's successor ?

Tony Blair doesn't even like football.
He had to be told who to "support" by Alistair Campbell who also informed him, in no uncertain terms, that he preferred England to Scotland.

Well he is desperate to be the Chairman of something. Looks like his EU dream has turned to ashes so he might just be in for this one. Could well appoint the Prince of Darkness and his (and our ) alcho nutter as advisors. Imagine that. Maybe he could appoint Harry Kane as our weapon of mass destruction.

I heard it was going to be Gavin Patterson. Tony Blair would be a strange one.

Blair would be a strange choice for anything; if he’s the answer, it’s a f*cking stupid question.

They should just go balls out, admit their true purpose, and appoint Harry Redknapp or Peter Ridsdale
On a more serious note, it could be a hell of an exit plan for Woodward at United. He knows how to milk football worldwide

Barry Fry surely.
Woodward isn't going anywhere. It doesn't really matter what the fans think of him, the Glaziers are on his side and he's doing a good job at growing the commercial side.

Wasn't one of his jobs after he left Westminster a U.N. middle east peace envoy ?
That went well

Would have thought Blair would be better qualified, (and more at home) running FIFA

Probably did for him.
As Ocean Colour Scene said - there’s no profit in peace.

Given the rumours ( totally unsubstantiated ) of phony Tony's alleged " horizontal jogging " sessions with Wendy Deng, whilst she was married to Rupert Murdoch, I doubt this appointment would do much for the Premier League's relationship with it's lead Broadcast partner ....
I suspect he'd also be roundly booed at every turn when he appeared at Premier League games, as well as making grounds targets for protestors ....
