Just watched The Founder on Amazon Prime, about the birth of the McDonald's franchise, and enjoyed it. Sully (about the Hudson river landing) is excellent.
If you like true sport films, I'd recommend Rush (I don't like F1 but it's brilliant) and The Damned United.

Mate, Sully gets a bit daft at the end when they're doing the flight sim reconstruction in the courtroom. Gets a bit schmaltzy, Hanks was the hero but he ends by saying American people were the real here's as the music swells.

Seabiscuit and Secretariat, if you like horse racing.
(I would also recommend Christopher Robin, but I have suspicions that some of that is producer's licence!

I suspect even with a real life film, he might want to avoid being told how it ends!

Hidden Figures - About black women in the US space program overcoming prejudice
127 hours - One mans survival battle trapped by his arm by a huge boulder in the wildrness

Touching The Void
"
In the mid-80's two young climbers attempted to reach the summit of Siula Grande in Peru; a feat that had previously been attempted but never achieved. With an extra man looking after base camp, Simon and Joe set off to scale the mount in one long push over several days. The peak is reached within three days, however on the descent Joe falls and breaks his leg. Despite what it means, the two continue with Simon letting Joe out on a rope for 300 meters, then descending to join him and so on. However when Joe goes out over an overhang with no way of climbing back up, Simon makes the decision to cut the rope. Joe falls into a crevasse and Simon, assuming him dead, continues back down. Joe however survives the fall and was lucky to hit a ledge in the crevasse. This is the story of how he got back down."
Awesome!!!

Searching for Sugar Man - a true story about a musician that became a household name across much of South Africa.... But little was known about him in that country, so a couple of fans decided to try and track him down.
What they discovered is a compelling story.

We saw the Sugar Man perform live in Birmingham about 6 years ago, he’s getting on now but yes a remarkable true story.

I love the pursuit of happyness. Story of Chris Gardner going from nothing to successful stock broker (played by will Smith) and the obstacles he has to overcome being a single dad and working for no pay etc. Really enjoyable.

So many good films based on real life mentioned here but I can't believe no-one has mentioned The Wolf of Wall Street. DiCaprio has never been better and the scene with the slow acting qualudes is comedy gold.
Good morning Vietnam has been mentioned so I won't.....oops.....I did.
