A which car thread...
Totally off topic and purely for fun....if you could have any car in the world for free, and practicalities like the cost of insurance, servicing, fuel consumption etc didn’t matter....what would you choose?
Would you go for a classic or the very latest car? Is there one car you have always dreamed of?

Aston Martin for me I think - any type would do...i’m not a greedy man !
Classic car wise love the E Type and also some of the earlier Ferraris.

I saw your username TVC and thought you would be a TVR person.
I’m probably with you in choosing an Aston.

Yes, if one car was going to challenge my choice of an Aston Martin, it would be the Jensen. As a kid, I loved that huge rear window. Can you imagine what that piece of glass cost?tim_noone wrote:Jensen interceptor ..the Dashboard of an aircraft you won't get any change from 70k now been increasing in price for years.beautiful car!

There are some incredibly beautiful Alfa Romeos from the 40’s and 50’s. Worth googling.

Might be a bit weird but I always wanted a Land Rover. Not one of your fancy new fangled ones. Practicality rules in this house so, approaching a mid-life crisis and just to wind the missus up. A TVR. Two seats. One for me and one for one of the dogs.

Re: A which car thread...
stayed in an airbnb in the Blue Ridge Mountains, about three weeks ago, and the owner had a Morgan. He took me for a spin in it. If this thread had been before that I would have said a Morgan, but sadly I was disappointed with it.
I launched a thread a couple of years ago (might have been the old board) about an exhibition passing by one of our museums, and it featured art deco cars - the best visiting exhibition I ever saw. I'd have any of those, possibly the 1937 DeLaHaye 135m Roadster, but with modern engineering under the hood and interior!
in other words, art deco design, combined with today's technology

Audi R8 Spyder in white. Not too OTT but enough to get noticed.

It was a joke, referencing my all time best ever thread on the old site (yup, even better than the 4K watch).LoveCurryPies wrote:Like most threads, it’s being done again. You don’t have to take part.
Basically, people told me what car they drove, and from that I gave them a very detailed character analysis.
Based on your reaction, I’m going for a Citroen c4 cactus. Ugly, unreliable and misses the point completely in the fact that it has 4 x 4 pretensions, but chooses to reinforce the doors.

In real life I love my Peugeot 205 and my VW camper . Total original purchase price for both 1500 quid.
Spent plenty since on the bus mind. Can't be much of it left that's original .

I need a 4x4 where I live, and I like convertibles.
I know it’s a bit ‘handbag’ but the soft top Range Rover Evoque would do just fine.

There was no reference to your old thread on another forum. Strange you therefore this I should know it was a joke.1fatclaret wrote:It was a joke, referencing my all time best ever thread on the old site (yup, even better than the 4K watch).

I do however agree with your hate of the Citroen Cactus.

But I don’t own one.
