That's unknowingly importing food, whereas importing food from places such as the USA we'd have to accept their standards which apparently are not as stringent as ours.

I sense most Brexiteers are for retaining high employment and product standards, just as I think most Remainers have little love for the EU but think it is for the best economically. Both sides have a spectrum of people voting for different reasons.

In fact if it adopted modern agricultural methods, dropped its Marxist economic policies and opened up to more trade then Africa could feed the whole planet several times over.
