Any report on an away win is well worth reading, this is no exception, thanks Tony.

The headline is spot on: three points despite an ugly showing. The points are all that matter right now.

Again, spot on. They could have overtaken us with a win and put us in the bottom three again. They didn't,we are five points ahead of them and a healthy 12th in the league. The form has got to improve but I'll take the points every time until it does.

An ugly game indeed, but 3 crucial points, it was typical Burnley, soak up the pressure, be patient and reap the rewards, we are improving and another win on saturday against another struggling team and im sure the confidence will return, its going to get tougher after the Huddersfield game but another win before the break will see us coming back as strong as we were last season.

A completely level headed and honest assessment. Not a good game but 3 points. Getting points when you are not playing well is a skill, and one which Sean Dyche's team shows in abundance.
We will play better, and probably lose playing better. But its 3 valuable points however you look at it.

I always remember Fergie saying pretty much the same at United. He was always happy when they got something out of a game that they really didn't deserve (and they were damn good at doing just that). Yesterday was a good result despite the performance but unfortunately there will be tougher tests (starting after Huddersfield) but regardless I do actually think we'll be fine this season if we can stop getting these damned injuries to key players. Our 'squad' is more than good enough to survive and then some but I do get a bit concerned over the injuries we keep getting. Despite getting Gibson in we are now back down to the bare bones in the centre of defence. Having said all that I can't get with the Long moaners, he hasn't put much of a foot wrong recently.
If we can get a win at weekend, as we would rightly expect to do, then 3 wins on the bounce will do wonders for confidence, in fact a win at weekend would likely put us back in the top half, which would be nice.

Warnock choose all his big strong goons for this match, which meant that they won most headers and tackles, but apart from Josh Murphy this meant that they lacked any flair and pace going forward and had poorer more naive defenders at the back which we exploited. I have so far seen little criticism from reporters and pundits that Warnocks team selection and tactics failed , only that they were unlucky.

As others have said Sir Alex always said winning ugly was a bonus.
Everyone agrees we weren't at our best ... but hey ITS 3 POINTS ....... Will take winning ugly rather than play expansive fancy tippy tappy football and getting tubbed 3 or 4 nil any day of the week.
We haven't the players to play the likes of City and Chelsea at their own game.
Sean is no mug and plays what we have to the best we can be.... perhaps occasionally we can turn on the style etc.
As you say 3 valuable points gained when not playing to our best
Come on you Clarets

I think you covered this really well. Whether it was intended or not I definitely got the impression that you were really peed off with the Burton game and that shone through in your report. But with the Cardiff it was a win, ugly but a win nonetheless.

If we win every away game like that then I won’t care.
If!

Probably Corky. I'm usually peed off when we lose but the Burton game was so frustrating, one we really should have won. We weren't good at Cardiff but my dad always used to say what's been said on this thread, winning when not playing well are usually the most important wins. I'd have taken an ugly 2-1 win when we sat off yesterday morning so I'm happy with it now.
