Each to their own but I find Jo Wiley excruciating to listen to, and she’s ruined Simon Mayos show! Edith Bowman pips her to the post mind, horrific.
Cox and Ball should definitely have done the show together, don’t you think?

Thee BBC chooses a blonde, white woman. Who’s shocked? Are there no black lesbians available?

ball is horrendous, a loudmouthed nobody, who desperately clung on to her threadbare career with her fingernails, no doubt begging to have her self back in the spotlight again no matter what. But, the bbc have a history of employing these cloying maggots and foisting them on the gullible public.
Mind you, its radio 2, their listeners are imbecilic to begin with.

Not a fan of Cox. She plays music she likes and doesn't think of her listeners.

I was hoping for a bit of Northern-ness in Sarah Cox.

I was on holiday in Tenerife with parents when I was about 10. Johnny (Think of a number) Ball was at the same hotel with his family. Zoe who is about the same age as me was there too (obviously before she was famous) - she looked like a scrawny little boy.

There must be about 5 million people in Britain capable of spinning a few discs and making a bit of bearable small talk......why do we have to make it sound like we only have 3 to choose from? ...and they need to be paid mega bucks from the license fee..

Zoe Ball is a very good present imo, and if she's learnt from her time on the radio one breakfast show she'll be very good on the Radio 2 version.

As a side note I met Jo Wylie once and found her to be very false unfortunately

i simply post an honest opinion on a messageboard, its not attention seeking anymore than your posts, do you expect abuse and similar accusations whenever you write something?

Your issue seems to be read a comment you disagree with, then a quick character assassination of someone you thankfully (for my part) will never know.

Damn sight better than that vapid **** evans.

Just hope she doesn't try to replicate the pointless celebrity shite we get now from that ginger ****. Its currently loose women and this morning rolled into one loud and annoying dogshit radio show.

Never mind, she is ticking one of the diversity boxes. The only positive I can say about her is that at least she isn't Sara Cox...

Sara Cox would’ve been perfect for the breakfast show and is very popular. Sounds like it’s you who has more of an issue with women.

If they weren’t regretting their decision, they probably are now. A bit like Nick Grimshaw was on Radio 1, she just sounds a bit bored in the morning.

I'd agree with Herts...and I don't have an issue with women at all..there are some excellent women broadcasters on radio 5 for instance e.g Clare McDonell, Emma Barnett, Anna Foster. Neither Zoe Ball or Sarah Cox have anything at all to say bar furthering their own "cool mummy" image(s). In the case of the Drive time show the BBC replaced Simon Mayo's programme, which included interesting features such as interviews with authors, Nigel Slater's food column and themed-music Tuesday shows, with the catastrophic unwilling double-act with Joe Wiley and then with Sarah Cox babbling infantile c**p. Zoe Ball is just dull, dull, dull and has just cemented my previous preference for Radio 5 or 6 Music (especially this week with Mark Radcliffe on) in the morning.

I've always found ZB a good knowledgeable dj. However it was always going to be an uphill struggle following Chris Evans and thus I'm not surprised listening figures have nosedived. As for Sarah Cox, it just emphasises what a loss Simon Mayo has been.

Wasn't a big fan of Chris Evans but could tolerate him. Zoe Ball just bores me to tears. Especially when she goes into that fake "I am so excited" voice as if she is talking to a group of five year olds.

Just to bring a bit of balance, I really like Sara Cox's show. Simon Mayo annoyed me. She's very quick witted and I think our senses of humour are similar.

Zoe Ball is fine. No better or worse than Chris Evans for me. She still has the 2nd most popular program in radio (behind Ken Bruce) so she can't be doing that badly.

She once beat me to a job at action time productions, due to her dad pulls the celebrity card... never forgiven them for the subsequent divergence in our careers lol.

... there again at least I avoided Norman Cook.

All radio stations become tedious if you listen to them long enough. Even Radio 4 which I initially liked because it's quite sensible compared to the manufactured wackiness of the other mainstream stations I found myself unable to listen to after a while because the relentless Brexit chat wore me down. I just stick to podcasts now, at least there's thousands to chose from so you never get bored.

I drive for a living and enjoy having r2 on in the background, bit like having the telly on. Nice treat when an absolute banger comes on. Jeremy vine gets switched off from time to time though.

I think Zoe Ball and Coxy deserve a little more credit, as a 46 year old I’ve ‘grown up’ with both of them.
