O/T Challenging a parking penalty

Hi,

Got a penalty note on my car after the game on sat at the car park opposite Tescos, even though I had a valid ticket.

Now ticket was displayed on the dashboard correctly, but when I picked it up it was on its reverse side. certainly I put it place correctly so I guess the closing of the car door flipped it over.

I've appealed it with photographic evidence of my ticket, but I'm not sure how they go about it.

Basically, will I be successful in my appeal!

I'm sure you will be successful; you should be anyway.

It is the council

Usually providing proof of a valid ticket purchase is enough to have it cancelled

Is the admin also done by the Council or by some 3rd party parasite company?

you'll be ok, mine slid down the gap near windscreen and although it was slightly visible, no details could be seen on it, i was ticketed but was able to show I had purchased an appropriate ticket for the relevant time and it was accepted.

Same thing happened to me. Put a ticket on dashboard which must have blown over when I shut the door. Got a ticket. Showed them proof of said ticket but they had covered their own back by taking a pic of the flipped ticket. Had to pay the fine.

Yeah, that is what I'm a bit bothered about.

Think its well wrong that they can still charge you though if you've clearly paid

Similar happened to me in Bolton. I left mine on the dashboard but carelessly back to front. I appealed and got away with it. On that basis you should. Hope so anyway.

From what I understand those **** can't prosecute.

You should park where the players park. They never get penalties! ;)

Hope so, if not David Beckham has the name of a very good lawyer. 8-)

The offence is 'not displaying a valid ticket' and the OP in undeniably guilty.

It has happened more than once to me and each time they did not chase the fine. They are really trying to penalise those that have no intention of paying

You'd think anybody with any sense would check to see the ticket was still showing after shutting the car door..
